Once again her words were twisted. She mentally groaned at his poor joke, it sounded like something a ten-year old would say. Thoughts crossed her mind of what to say in response, but she held them all back. This served to increase her frustration at the man before her, threatening to explode again. She didn't want that though. The sight of the bruise forming on his cheek worried her. Hurting people wasn't something she liked, certainly not something she wanted to do. Yet, it had felt good. The brief act of violence has relieved a lot of built up stress, but was now bringing about more. She didn't want to enjoy it. Just the thought that such a thing has a positive effect on her made her mentally cringe. Sure, she had violent thoughts at times, but she never actually acted upon them. Not before that day anyway.
Kai was so lost in thought that she almost didn't notice the change in the older man's tone. It was devoid of the cheery, taunting, tone he had been using. The tone wasn't what hit though, it was his words. He was bored. She really was just a game to him. All the anger, all the frustration drained from Kai. Her hands, which had been balled into fists, fell slack, dangling limply at her sides. Somehow, she had known this would happen, but she had been so stubborn and stuck around. She was such an idiot. Her gaze dropped to the ground at her feet. The grass she had come over to, intending to sit down and think. Now she was standing there stupidly being mocked and made fun of, all for the amusement of some ass she didn't even know the name of. She could never understand why people were so mean to people they knew nothing about, but she shouldn't be surprised anymore. They were all the same. All anyone ever wanted of her was to taunt her. She stayed there for a moment, completely silent. Unable to hold it back anymore, she turned away, refusing to give Dexter the satisfaction of seeing her eyes well up with tears. "Come on Ziva," she grumbled bitterly.
If her trainer had not called her, the Eevee would have continued her game with Raven. She had been about to pounce on the other fox when she got the command. With her trainer leaving, she too had to be off. Nudging her nose into Raven again, she gave a quick goodbye before running to Kai's side. The blonde-haired girl picked up her starter gently and nuzzled her face into the soft fur. It calmed her slightly, but she still felt terrible. "I apologize for the bruise," she said bitterly. It was only said to make herself feel better. With her statement, she began to walk away.
