Shadow
Shadow is nix's pride and joy, quite simply. She is the only girl on nix's team and as a result nix loves her to bits, she would do anything for her to keep her strong and safe the same as she would for any for her team but she has a bit more of a connection with shadow.

Nix and shadow came together as a result of nixs family. The night family are very well known in kanto as they breed powerful and smart eevee's, normally they allow their children to pick one as a starter when they turn twelve but due to her nasty childhood beside them, nix had already run away from home when she was nine. She had come back to the house to see her great grandmother who was ill and also the only person of her blood who didn't actually hate her for being different ,while visiting nix spent a lot of time outside in the pens and she began to noticed things. Her family turned away any pokemon that was too big or small or didn't look good enough, even those who came to the well known place to have their litters. Nix soon took the job her family should have and started helping the mated pairs by building them shelters and then standing guard over them for a few nights as they had their litters. Three weeks went past and nix found out something else about her families breeding, they threw away the smaller eggs. So nix started sneaking in the eggs of those she helped, with their permission of course and taking the smaller eggs out and explaining the situation to the pokemon she helped who'd then raise the weaker pokemon themselves. Shadow was born to a vaporeon and a leafeon who were darker than normals of their kind, nix became very close to their pair and she named them Farn and Missa and then their litter was born she named the eggs twitch and flick. But the third egg was really tiny, and it's known with pokemon that small eggs can mean a dead child but nix was determined to prove that smaller eggs can have powerful pokemon if you care enough, so she took the smallest egg herself and then left her families grounds with the eevelution family and came back to unova.

Shadow hatched a few days later and nix loved on her sight, she has a little tuft of her that sticks up on her head and at the end of her tail that can't be flattened down and nix loves this because it makes the two alike, she was also rather as was expected from her egg. They are both the only girls on the team and both have messy hair that make them stand out.

She evolved when nix threw herself in the way of a thundershock move that was accidentally sent in shadows direction, as a result of her trainer putting herself in harms way shadow evolved in to an umbreon and both nix and shadow herself were over joyed at which eevelution she had become, nixs family would not breed umbreons themselves so nix is happy to have the one pokeomon they never will.

Shadow is the worst/best in battle. She will take on any enemy no matter it's size or type and will fight until shes out cold, in the same way nix is too stubborn to back down or give up to someone rude or more powerful than her, shadow is the same. Her lowish level has not kept her from battling her fair share of wild pokemon and she wants to be as powerful as all the boys to prove she's just as good as them but really better, because everyone knows girls are better. Because of this fact ,she and jark train together very often and have become good sparing buddies but nix as spent a lot of time with her training her too meaning she has now grown in size to a regular Eevee's size, proving nixs families ideas wrong.
