Sakura Talking Sakura Thinking
A certain type of intense anxiety pulled at the young female's heart and she stepped cautiously into the Pinwheel Forest, curious as to what kind of danger lurked in the shadows of the bug-infested terrain. This anxiety wasn't caused by nervousness, however. Today, Sakura was incredibly enthusiastic over the fact that she was finally doing what she loved and had always dreamed of since she was a little girl playing with her mother's pokemon. What was this, you may ask? Finally, Sakura would become a pokemon trainer! In her arms she held her beloved Cyndaquil who looked up to her with it's squinty eyes in bitter impatience. The only reason Cyndaquil had been released from his pokeball was for the sake of allowing him to release his energy that had been building up since they left home.
" I know, I know. You want to run around. " she said in a sadistic tone.
It was a real pain in her ass when Cyndaquil decided to pester the living hell out of her when he wanted something, but alas, she still loved him anyway. He was her first pokemon after all. Sakura stopped in her tracks and surveyed the area before looking back to make sure she hadn't lost sight of where they entered the forest. The most important thing to remember when entering a forest was to trace your steps and keep in mind where you started. As of now the forest was silent with only the sound of the wind mingling within the trees. Sakura looked up and admired how blissfully the leaves danced in rhythm with the breeze, almost forgetting how peaceful this forest could be.
"Alright Cyn, If you're done throwing me death glares I'll let you down to run around. But stay where I can see you. It's pretty here and all but it can also be dangerous."
Sakura knew that her Cyndaquil probably hadn't the slightest idea what she was saying, but he did know better than to run off without her. She carefully placed her ambitious pokemon on the forest floor and watched him run and scratch at the ground in front of him, searching for any form of entertainment. She herself took the time to sit, cross her legs, and relax, making sure that her darling Cyndaquil wasn't doing anything stupid. For a few minutes Saki closed her eyelids over her silver pools and did what she used to do in a quiet meadow near home-meditate. Yes, it was silly to some but it was incredibly relaxing to the self hating girl. She was always worrying over things, even things that weren't worth worrying over! Of course, yoga and meditation helped her forget it for a few moments and calm the stress that plagued her.
After opening her eyes she looked around, expecting for Cyndaquil to pop out of the bushes and dash toward her playfully, but he was no where to be found.
"Damn it! I knew I should have kept a damn eye on him! "
If she could kick herself, then Sakura certainly would in a time like this. She uncrossed her legs and bolted in the direction she had assumed he went in and began to search for her single companion.
" Cyn! Where are you?!" the gal called frantically with the hope that Cyndaquil would hear her and return to her.
She looked through bushes, looked up at the trees, ran left and right, and still she couldn't find her pokemon. How embarrassing was this! Suddenly, she heard something rustle behind her and she whipped around defensively, praying that this wasn't some wild pokemon out to get her. Out jumped Cyndaquil into her arms, looking as if he had saw a ghost. "Oh! You're alright! UGH DON'T YOU EVER RUN OFF LIKE THAT AGAIN." she scolded the small fire pokemon, but hugged him gently to show that she was relieved to have him back with her. |

wild woobat is angered, will you fight?[/style]
| [style=font-size:10px; line-height: 13px; background-color: #121212; color: #ececec; padding: 5px; text-align:justify;]All the poor Woobat wanted to do was sleep, yet that didn't seem to happen as a girl was shouting frantically. He tossed and turned on the tree, before the suction from his nose onto the bark was lost and he fell to the ground. Hitting his rather large head, the Woobat was angry and wanted to find out who had awoken him and made him fall from his bed. He used his wings to lift his own weight and began to flutter in and out of trees, using his nose to figure out when to turn. This woobat wasn't too smart and knocked into trees a couple times, plus he was still tired. He was definitely stressed out and not in a good mood.
He then heard the rustle of a bush and the girl's voice again. There! He flung forward and began to detect where this person was. Figuring out he was now in front of the her and the pokémon, the Woobat began to shout. "Wooooo! Woo-bat!" His voice was rough and anyone could tell there was anger in it. He wanted this girl to pay for waking him. [/style] |

Sakura Talking Sakura Thinking
It was funny how Sakura couldn't stop mentally kicking herself for losing sight of her pokemon...but was it to much to relax a little? She sighed, exhausted from running around and her heightened stress levels, and sat down again with Cyndaquil placed tenderly in her lap.
" You're a piece of work you know that?" she said humorously and pet him on the head.
Cyndaquil responded by nuzzling her tummy and looking up at her with what looked like an apologetic expression plastered on his mousy face. It seemed like Cynaquil was sorry for causing her to stress over losing him, and in return Sakura forgave him. It wasn't often that the fire mouse pokemon caused trouble for her and this must have just been one of those rare cases where he did. Sakura looked up at the trees again, purposely looking past the branches to peer at the sky. When the two of them had entered the forest, the sun was just barely retaining it's shine due to the abundant amount of cloud cover. She thought that they would be out of here before it started to rain, but her prediction was just barely making the cut. Ashen clouds were beginning to plague the sky and the sun was nowhere to be found. "Looks like were going to have to hurry out of here before were caught in a storm, and this certainly isn't the place to get caught in one!" she thought to herself bitterly.
With her pokemon held close to her, Sakura stood and figured she should probably look for the entrance to where they came. Silver eyes scanned the area, hoping to find a checkpoint she recognized, but failed miserably. This was definitely not her day. " Damn it, were lost." she muttered under her breath. Cyndaquil looked up at his master in confusion and all she could do in return was avoid his gaze.
" Don't worry, Cyn, We'll find a way out of here. Nacrene City is nearby so if we keep going, we should end up there."
Before the duo even had a chance to head in the right direction, a very upset Woobat came straight for them with the intention of kicking Sakura's ass all the way to Kanto. Startled, the young trainer jumped and merely stared fearfully at the raging woobat, afraid that he might attack her directly.
" Alright Cyndaquil, I need your help." she spoke hopefully toward her trusted fire type.
Cyndaquil dashed from her arms and stood in front of her defensively, his back flaring up in sheer anger at this woobat's rudeness, and waited for Sakura to give him a command. In a hurry, Saki remembered every move that Cyn currently had and figured that since this woobat was a psychic/flying pokemon, that reversal would do little to no damage in this situation. Her best bet was to tell Cyndaquil to use tackle, so with a determined expression she readied herself.
"Cyndaquil, use tackle!"
Cyndaquil let out a loud "Quil!" and dashed toward the woobat, aiming to hit with a fiery tackle right in his pig-like face.

| [style=font-size:10px; line-height: 13px; background-color: #121212; color: #ececec; padding: 5px; text-align:justify;]The Woobat was trying to give this girl a horrible look of disgust. She had woken him up and caused this bruise on his hairy face. Yet, he was unsure where the girl now was. He let out a couple supersonic waves and realized something was heading toward him. Before long there was a sudden impact and the Woobat fell onto the floor, cringing in pain. So now the girl had woken him up and attacked him! This was not acceptable!
Pulling himself back into the air, the Woobat detected where the little fire rat was and got ready to attack. He wasn't going to go down with a battle! He began to flutter his wings rapidly, eyes bulging behind the walls of fur on his face. A faint purple glow surrounded the bat pokémon and before long shot out toward the Cyndaquil. It wasn't too powerful, but it was the only attack that Woobat knew would work.[/style] |

Sakura Talking Sakura Thinking
Cyndaquils tackle landed successfully, landing the raging woobat in a good deal of pain. In a sense, Sakura almost felt bad for having her Cyndaquil attack the bat-like pokemon, but it was attacking them first right? The two of them had no choice but to defend themselves lest they be struck with a supersonic wave and stranded in this forest for longer than they already had been. After all, this was excellent practice for her little fire pokemon. The duo had never been in a trainer battle before, but this was close enough wasn't it? Sakura diverted her gaze from the floating fluff ball to the trees, again aiming to look past the branches in order to catch a glimpse of the sky. "Damn it..." the young gal thought to herself as her silver optics caught the sight of ebony clouds rolling in, even darker than the ones she saw only a few minutes ago.
There was a slim chance that her and Cyndaquil would manage to make it out of this place unscathed by the rain at this point. She thought about just picking up her companion and dashing away from the woobat in an attempt to flee toward Nacrene City, but now that it had been angered further, he would probably give chase to make them pay for whatever it was they had done. Suddenly, the woobat had made it's move. A pinkish beam was shot from it, to Cyndaquil, and before Sakura had time to say "Dodge!" Cyndaquil was walking about in a dizzy faze, even running into a tree and falling over. "Hmm..You're clever" she muttered in the direction of her current enemy. It would seem the bat pokemon had used confuse ray, a move that confuses the opponite and may cause damage if they try to attack. Hastily, Saki searched through her bag for something that might help them in their unpredictable situation.
"Hmm, this should work." she thought out loud. It was something she hoped she wouldn't have to use for some time, but the time called for it. Pulling her pokemon close and making sure he didn't squirm, Saki pulled out the only full heal in her bag and sprayed it over Cyndaquil. "Quil?" the tiny pokemon reacted in confusion. Clearly, he wasn't sure of what had just happened to him, but he knew for sure that he wasn't done with this woobat. He jumped from his masters arms and resumed his position standing on front of her defensively with his back flaring up in anger. Sakura only smirked, amused by her pokemons enthusiasm. "Alright Cyn, now, hit woobat with another tackle!" she commanded with the smirk still stretched across her pale features.
Again, Cyndaquil ran forward, dashing furiously and aiming to hit woobat just as he did before.

wild woobat dodged, it used confusion![/style]
| [style=font-size:10px; line-height: 13px; background-color: #121212; color: #ececec; padding: 5px; text-align:justify;]The bat pokémon was proud of himself as the attack hit, leaving the Cyndiquil running around for no reason what so ever. He gave a small squeal of success and fluttered about. The silly pokémon had made a fool of himself and the Woobat couldn't help but find this pretty funny. Yet the humor of the situation died as the trainer restored her pokémon's condition, and within seconds the fire type was coming back at him.
Woobat knew what was happening and flew out of the way of the attack, luckily just dodging it. He turned to where the Cyndiquil had landed and shot another confusion at it. Yet as the target had just been moving his aim wasn't too good, and he'd be surprised if it hit. Woobat's clumsiness was a pain for him, and meant he wasn't a very good fighter.[/style] |
[[ i'd just like to point out it's confusion that the woobat used, not confuse ray~ ^_^ ]]

Sakura Talking Sakura Thinking
With a shocking amount of speed Cyndaquil bolted for the woobat with his back continuing to flare like one giant firework. He had no doubt that this tackle would miss, but unfortunately, Cyndaquil didn't realize the sound wave that Woobat had released just gave away his position. Bouncing off of Cyndaquil, the waves flowed back to woobat and he was able to dodge the oncoming tackle just in time. Sakura's smirk disappeared as soon as it came and for a moment, her anxiety pierced her heart. She felt a pang in her chest that made her worry that maybe they wouldn't make it out of here unscathed by the bat pokemon, but she knew better than to doubt her dearest Cyn. After all, she did trust him. Cyndaquil was stubborn, and never gave in to easily. He was the type of pokemon that would defend those he held dearly-be it pokemon or human-until either he was dead on the ground or his opponent gave up.
"What to do, What to do." the trainer thought when she saw her pokemon miss his target. This was one interesting opponent, seeing as he located his adversary based on invisible sound waves. In order to make everything go as planned and drive this woobat back to where it came from, Cyndaquil would have to be fast and try his hardest not to stay in one place at a time. Cyndaquil landed on his feet with a lovely dirt cloud being flung up around him, much thanks to his impact on the forest floor. Clumsily, the woobat attempted to use another confuse attack on him, but Cyndaquil dodged easily. Clearly, that attack wasn't well planned out if he was even aiming to hit. " Cyn, move to the left, then the right!" Sakura called out before giving him his next command. Cyndaquil dashed to the left, hoping to avert the woobat's attention, then to the right.
Before Cyndaquil was able to officially "dash right" Sakura called out to her companion once more, telling him to deal out another tackle upon this pig...or heart-nosed rodent with wings. "Quil Quil!" he responded and bolted to the right and then jumped toward the woobat, hoping to actually hit this time.

wild woobat was hurt badly, it used odor sleuth![/style]
| [style=font-size:10px; line-height: 13px; background-color: #121212; color: #ececec; padding: 5px; text-align:justify;]The Woobat wasn't too happy to realize his moved missed, but he was quite a clumsy pokémon and it wasn't any surprise to him. He faced the fire rat and got ready to attack again, yet it seemed like no one was there. Using his supersonic waves he could not detect the moving pokémon. He spun around to see if he could locate the Cyndiquil in another direction, yet this was a bad mistake. It was then that the fire type smashed into the Woobat from his back that had turned. Without putting up his defense the attack hurt badly and left the bat pokémon hurling to the ground and hitting his head. He tried to fly back up and use another attack but it was far to hurt to know what it was actually doing.
Instead of using his confusion attack the pokémon ended up using his useless attack, odor sleuth. It would of only be effective if the opponent was a ghost type, but instead all he did was identify his enemy... and what help was that for the Woobat?[/style] |
[[ easy mistake, don't worry about it! c: ]]

Sakura Talking Sakura Thinking
Cyn was ecstatic over the fact that his tackle had hit with a vicious amount of damage to the wild woobat. Even more so was Sakura, who was feeling pretty good about herself, knowing that her random tactic had an effect. It was common sense knowing how sound waves worked, so it didn't have to be extremely thought out thought out, but it was potent nonetheless. "Great job Cyn!" the young adult shouted words of encouragement to the small fire pokemon who was looking mighty proud himself. Now, what was there to do now? Wait to see what the woobat did? Or simply end this battle with another attack that would hopefully discourage the bat pokemon from continuing? Only two incomplex options and so little time to decide what was best in this situation.
Well, the decision was hastily made for her as the woobat identified Cyn with a move commonly known as odor sleuth. Unfortunately for it, Cyndaquil wasn't a ghost type pokemon so the move had done nothing to damage her dearest in the least. "It must be running out of options..." she thought to herself, merely studying the obvious as she did often. There wasn't really much left to do except try and end this battle and assume that the woobat would realize that there was no winning this fight, go back to where he came from, and leave them alone to find a way out of this forest in peace. For a minute, Sakura actually kind of felt bad for the winged poke', watching every hit made by Cyn causing him pain. Then again, he also caused Cyn pain by using confusion on him and making him run around like a deranged lunatic. Now that, he would have to pay for. Nobody messed with her only and first pokemon like that, and he deserved every bit of agony that was coming to him.
"Alright Cyn, Finish this up with yet another tackle!" she commanded, hoping that if this hit, they would finally be able to leave before the rain came. Just as that thought rang through the confines of her mind, Sakura felt something wet fall on her nose...and then her head...then then her shoulder. "I knew this would happen..." she thought bitterly with her teeth grinding together in aggravation. It was only a matter of time before the rain started to come down in sheets, and that was something she certainly wasn't looking forward to. If this woobat had at least half a brain he would give up and find some shelter instead of being stubborn, but the nature of this pokemon was unknown to her.

Before long he was fall toward the ground but managed to lift himself back up. Cyndiquil's tackle wasn't a very big concern of his and when it hit the Woobat's health dropped rapidly. He plummeted to the ground, smashing his nose and leaving him unconscious after the attack. The clumsy bat wasn't a very good fighter and should have known better than starting a battle with a trainer and her pokémon.
The rain began to drop, and any pokémon that had been out still had decided to run back and retreat to their homes. It would be best if they hid until the rain was gone, so it meant there wasn't much else the trainer could do here.[/style] |
