NOTES first post in quite some time, sorry for the ugliness :c [img src=""] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, width: 314px; padding: 10px; background-color: #dadada] Castelia City.
It felt more like home.
Like Goldenrod.
Homesickness, that was what he was feeling right now, as he sat on the bench, looking but not seeing. He stared blankly at the buildings surrounding the park, though the sight didn't really register to him. In his mind's eye, he was looking over the tall department store of his city, looking past the sea, the buildings, the towns and people. The calm he felt whenever he was alone, it surrounded him for an instant as he let his mind wander back to his hometown.
That was what it would be for now though
Just in his mind.
He blinked, the sound of laughter breaking him from his daydream, the ice cream he held already showing signs of melting. At least this was something that Goldenrod didn't have, an easily accessible ice cream shop, one that could quench his sweet tooth. He took a bite at soft strawberry ice cream, relishing in the taste, before looking at the dark puppy next to him. His Houndour, of course, also had his own sweet dessert. The fire type was already finishing up with his own chocolate ice cream, conveniently placed in a cup for him to lap up. Regardless, the hound had the cream all over his muzzle. The blonde grinned the easily contented puppy, reminding him that he a rather difficult Gible to deal with.
Castelia was his favorite city, merely for the fact that it was quite similar to Goldenrod. Though definitely Castelia was larger than his hometown, at least the park back in Johto was larger, then again, it was called National Park for a reason. Curiously there was a lack of pokemon in the park, though the fountain certainly held its own beauty. He hummed to himself, an unknown tune, before taking yet another bite from his snack.
It was still afternoon, a nice yellow-orange hue in the sky, a bunch of people still wandering about in the park. It looked like such a fine afternoon as well, only a few clouds in the sky, giving off that relaxing feeling he so craved a fair few times. He'd worry about looking for a place to stay for the night later, for now, it was rest time. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h99/houndoomXdelta/el.jpg); width: 136px; height: 460px;] |

Kenneth's native Ecruteak City wasn't exactly a small or sparsely-populated place, but it paled in comparison to the size of the sprawling metropolis that was Castelia City. As he wandered through the streets, he found himself almost overwhelmed by all the hustle and bustle. He couldn't fathom that there was a single person in the city who wasn't outside with him due to the sheer number and volume of the crowds, and if he were a less well-adjusted young man, he might be inclined to feel rather claustrophobic among such a dense population. As it stood, he was just annoyed, and he began to become a bit less polite as he pushed his way past one person after another. Eventually, he decided that he could wait until later to reach his destination. Perhaps they were moving through a lunch rush now, and if so, things might calm down in an hour or two.
In the meantime, Kenneth managed to force his way out of the traveling masses and into a pretty fancy-looking park. There were still plenty of people, but they were much more spread out now. The extra space and fresher air inspired the Trainer to breathe deeply and heave a sigh of relief. Finally, some peace. He spent the next several minutes wandering about, enjoying the scenery, and taking quick glances at the others in the park to see if anything interesting was going on. He noticed a marked lack of Pokémon activity (save a few wild Flying types that went soaring overhead from time to time), but assumed it was just because no one really wanted to let out their Pokémon at the time. He thought that unfortunate, but then it occurred to him that there might be rules against it for some reason. Fearing retribution from the law, he decided it was better to ask and be sure than to guess and be wrong.
He noticed only one person with a visible Pokémon present: a man with glasses and blond hair. He must have been as good a person to ask as any, so Kenneth approached him with a polite smile. "Excuse me, sir," he began. "You aren't aware of any rules against letting Pokémon roam about in this park, are you?"

”Wait. Maybe it’s this way.”
Start forward. Stop. Back up.
”That can’t be right. This way?”
Left. Right. Up stairs. Down alley ways.
Let’s face it. Sarah was utterly lost and all Teddiursa could contribute was a soft whine at her shoulder. Some part of her knew this was going to happen right at the get go. The moment she decided that entering Castelia City would be a good decision, she should have known her awful sense of direction would kick in. But what other choice did she have? Tons of choices, but some sort of hiccup in the tones coming through her amplifier headphones gave her enough hope to enter anyway.
Getting herself lost was a regular occurrence. Anyone that knew her knew that. Sometimes she would disappear for days at a time, wandering herself in circles, fretting. Most often, it was because she was on the trail of a sound that could be the Voice—this dream, or idea if you want to call it, that Nature had something to say. She would follow odd sounds or rumors about one thing or another, locked down in tunnel vision, only—usually—to find nothing, and not recalling how to get back.
Castelia City was particularly troublesome for someone with her sense of direction to navigate. So many streets with street signs, alleys, twists, turns and dead ends. Though no matter which new direction she took, she always somehow managed to find herself back at the park, like she was stuck in a maze that laughed at her.
And with the tenth—or whatever—time, she came out of a one way street back into the grassy park once again.
”Ugh!” Sarah threw her hands up in exasperation. Teddiursa gave a grumble and jumped down from her perch upon her partner’s shoulder. The little bear volunteered that they take a break and climbed herself up onto a bench under the shade of a tree, Sarah following suit. She dropped her head into her hands, tired, and combed out the tangles out of her hair, giving her Teddiursa an apologetic smile. ”I’m sorry, Teddy. I must really annoy you sometimes.”
Teddy just shrugged, clicking the heels of her feet together. Her little button nose wiggled, and her round ears tilted. Across the way, on the other side of the water fountain, was a Houndour. Teddy blinked, tilting her head curiously, and noticed the ice cream the fire type was happily lapping up. She reached a paw out and tugged on Sarah’s shirt, pointing at the other pokemon with the other. That ice cream looked like a brilliant idea!

NOTES Sorry for taking so long >< [img src=""] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, width: 314px; padding: 10px; background-color: #dadada] "Oh Arceus, Arky, eat with more grace, please." said Elijah, looking down at the dark hound with an amused smile on his face. The fire pokemon licked at his lips, ears perking up as he broke away from his treat to look at the blonde trainer with curiosity. But all the pokemon did was to roll his eyes and resume to his eating. Elijah scoffed at this, really now, did he need to demand some respect from his own pokemon now? But he merely shrugged to himself and placed his hands behind his head, he'd drill in some commands for the pup later on, then they'd see who was the boss of them.
It was only then that he noticed someone looking towards him, heading towards him even. He tilted his head slightly to the side as he watched this strange blue-haired approach, a smile on the others face while he himself looked blankly ahead. He tilted his head the other way, and took his shades. Yup, definitely blue hair. How strange...
He replied with a smile of his own, after the initial blank pause of thought that he went through whenever someone approached him. The boy didn't seem to look as though he wanted to cause any harm anyway, at least not at the moment. He listened to the question, before taking a glance at the dark pokemon next to him. "Well, I've been here for-" He paused as he placed a finger to his temple, scrunching up his eyes as if trying to remember. "An hour, an hour and a half?" He decided, though shrugging to show how uncertain he was, "And no one has come to, ahh, reprimand me just yet. I'd say its pretty safe~" said the blonde.
From the corner of his eyes, Arrkadius, the Houndour, caught sight of some small movement. Breaking away from the cold, sloppy mess that was his ice cream, he turned his head to see a Teddiursa pointing in his direction. He looked behind him, and then bared his teeth at the bear pokemon with a growl. Nothing too him, or at least in his opinion, so he could only guess that he was the one being pointed at. His thought process was simple. Teddiursa was pointing at him. Teddiursa was looking at his chocolate. He didn't like the Teddiursa. But he did like his chocolate. Thus, he would need to defend his chocolate from the intruding Teddiursa. He shifted his position, his paws moving to bring the cup of dessert closer to him. The canine stuck out his tongue at the Teddiursa.
Yes, defend his treat, he would. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-image: url(http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h99/houndoomXdelta/el.jpg); width: 136px; height: 460px;] |

"Ah, great," Kenneth said, thankful for the opportunity to let all of his Pokémon stretch their legs in such a halcyon setting (though some would surely have to be watched more closely than others). "Thanks a lot." His hand went down to the belt that held his Pokéballs, but he froze in place before pulling off even one of them, his eyes locked on the little black Pokémon that rested beside the blond man with a frozen treat. Its Trainer didn't seem to notice right away, but just as Kenneth had moved to grab his Pokéballs, it had started growling and baring is teeth. Kenneth didn't immediately become aware of the reason for this, guessing only that it was because the Pokémon might be anticipating a battle due to his movements. Either that, or it just perceived a general threat, which was a far less satisfying notion; he didn't expect he could take a Bite as well as any on his team could.
Upon noticing that the small creature wasn't actually looking at him, Kenneth turned his eyes and head slowly in search of the object of its contempt. He was eventually able to see yet another small Pokémon very close by, though this one looked far less threatening. In fact, one might even go so far as to call it cute and unassuming, but for whatever reason, the blond Trainer's Pokémon didn't share those conceptions. It looked entirely ready to pounce, rend, and tear, and Kenneth endeavored to warn the man it was with in case he happened not to have noticed. "Mmmm...I think something's bothering your Pokémon," He said, keeping his voice low to ensure that its wrath did not suddenly turn on him. He moved his left arm slowly so that he might point behind him and to his right, where the other, cute Pokémon stood. "That Pokémon there, perhaps?" He hoped the situation could be resolved without anything unfortunate happening. He hadn't broken out of the chaos of the city just to be faced with a sudden outbreak of violence.
