“Why does this always happen to me?” That’s what Devan said as he walked through the forest, lost once again. He’d wandered off the trail to investigate a sound he’d heard, thinking it might he a pokemon and it was. He arrived only to be chased off by a group of Swoobat and sent even further off course. Now he wondered around aimlessly, looking for the trail. “Oh it’s got to be around here somewhere. If I can just find it without running into any more of those Swoobat I should be fine….oh who am I kidding. For all I know I could be going in the complete opposite direction. I knew I should have bought that navigational system when I had the chance. Sigh, maybe I can look at my dumb old paper map and try to navigate myself to a nearby town or trail.” He looked around for a place to sit down and a little ways off saw a small clearing with a few good sized rocks, perfect. Walking over he climbed up on one, sitting at the top as he rummaged through his pack. “Hmm….now where is that map….I know it’s got to be in here somewhere, I remember packing it at the last pokemon center, or at least, I think I remember packing it at the last pokemon center.” Just as he was starting to get worried his hand touched the map and he sighed in relief, pulling it out. “Thank goodness. Now let’s see….” He pulled out the map, looking at it then deciding he’d feel better with a snack. Pulling out a large cookie, one of his favorite sweets, he started munching on it while he looked at the map, trying to figure out his location.

Cranidos | Rock-Type | Level 7 | Male | Mold Breaker Headbutt | Leer | Focus EnergyFor awhile, it was quiet as Devan munched on his cookie and looked at the map, but after a few minutes there was a rustling and a sound like something stampeding towards the young trainer. A blue rock-type charged out of the bushes, head lowered. He ran right past Devan, and crashed his head into a nearby tree. This stopped the pokemon, who seemed to be paying no mind to the human nearby. He simply shook his head, looking like he was about to start charging again. Wild Cranidos Appeared!

“Ah, I think im…no….or maybe….no…oh wait! Here I am!” Devan announced the last part cheerfully as he finally found where he was located on the map. He noticed his cookie was gone though. “Aw. I didn’t even know I’d finished it. And that was my last one to….” He was about to get up when he heard a sudden rustling and looked over in the direction the sound was coming from. When he saw the blue and grey shape charging out of the surrounding brush he was so startled and surprised he fell off his rock and onto the ground behind it with a loud “Oof!” Hearing a loud ‘thump,’ he peeked out from behind the rock warily, wondering what pokemon had charged out of the bushes and made such a noise. What he saw made his eyes light up and sparkle. It was a Cranidos, one of the pokemon on his list and a hard one to find! He rubbed his hands together excitedly, this was perfect! What luck! Still though, Devan couldn’t figure out what made that thumping noise until he looked over at the tree. There were scratches on the bark and warm sticky tree sap oozed from some of them. So that was it. The Cranidos was training itself to get stronger, even better. That must mean that this pokemon is not only strong but has the initiative and determination to grow stronger! It’s seemed Devan hadn’t been noticed yet so this would be the perfect time for an attack. Silently he watched the pokemon and pulled out one of his pokeballs, clicking it open facing the rocks so the Cranidos wouldn’t see the red light. Out popped his long time partner Dusk. The Litwick looked up at him and he made a gesture of silence, pointing to the Cranidos with a smile. Dusk got the gist of what her trainer was saying and nodded, jumping up onto one of the rocks. Devan suddenly shouted out “Dusk use Smog then follow it up with Heat Wave to light it all on fire!”

*Sorry.* Devan saw the Cranidos wince in pain. This was good, or battle wise at least. From that small action he could tell that the pokemon had been poisoned. Who knew, maybe this would be an easy battle after all. Maybe once the heat wave hit he could catch it. He looked on eagerly but to no avail, the Cranidos managed to dodged the searing blast of heat. So much for that. Maybe this pokemon was a little tougher than he’d thought. Still though, the pokemon had been poisoned which would help in the battle. He thought carefully about his next move. Cranidos had used focus energy which meant that the pokemon must be getting ready to attack and with a pokemon like that, it would do a lot of damage if he didn’t do something fast. Maybe that was it. Dusk looked behind her at her trainer, giving a questionable look and a “Lit?” Devan nodded, letting litwick know he knew what he was doing and smiled. “Okay now Dusk, use Acid Armor!” Dusk nodded and gave him a determined “Lit! Litwick!” Dusk’s body began to shine a little as the move took effect, making Dusk less solid and increasing her defense. Devan nodded. That was good for defense for now, now it was time to get in a little more offense. Or better yet, maybe the best offense was a good defense. If the Cranidos’s attack missed or didn’t do much damage, he could attack right back and do a lot of damage to him. Devan nodded to himself. “Dusk use smog again to cover the area! Try and avoid being seen by Cranidos!” Dusk nodded and opened its mouth, a cloud of dark fog billowing out. [Dusk used Acid Armor! Dusk used smog!] Litwick | Ghost-Type | Level 6 | Female | Shadowtag Smog | Ember | Astonish | Heatwave | Acid | Acid Armor

Cranidos | Rock-Type | Level 7 | Male | Mold Breaker Headbutt | Leer | Focus EnergyOnce again the poisonous gas was surrounding the Cranidos, but this time he was prepared and held his breath. Unfortunately, it sting stung his skin. Scratching the ground beforehand, the rock-type charged forward with his head aimed at Dusk. Of course, he hadn't been expecting to simply go straight through the candle. The intangible ghost-type was a tough opponent. Cranidos was hit by SMOG Cranidos used HEADBUTT Cranidos was hurt by Poison! [2/8 of total hp lost] (Aaand Shikaru is stupid and accidentally deleted her post before this one. /fail Cranidos was previously hit by Smog, Poisoned, and dodged Heat Wave.)

*Hey did you want me to keep putting Dusk's bio for every posts?* Devan looked on with interest as he saw the Cranidos hold his breath to try and avoid more damage when the smog hit. It seemed that this pokemon was not only smart but he was strong to. He would be a perfect edition to Devan’s team. He noticed the smog still did some damage though and nodded satisfied. This was going good so far. Then the Cranidos made its own move, charging at Dusk. Luckily their tactics had worked and the Cranidos did little to no damage as he passed through Dusk. But now not only was the pokemon closer, he was vulnerable to. This was the perfect chance for an attack! He had never been so happy about getting lost before. True there was that incident with the group of Swoobat, and he still didn’t know where he was since he had lost his place on the map and possibly the map itself, but this pokemon in front of him made it all worth it. It had been such a long time since he’d found a pokemon on his list to capture and when he wasn’t looking for one, it found him! Maybe he should try that strategy more often. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and get back to the present. He hadn’t won yet after all, there was still a battle to fight and a pokemon to catch. Dusk looked over and Devan smiled. “Its time for our combination attack buddy! Go, use Ember and Heat Wave together!” The little litwick inhaled a large breath and blew out the fiery combination, aiming for the Cranidos before he could get his bearings. [Dusk used Ember and Heat Wave together!] Litwick | Ghost-Type | Level 6 | Female | Shadowtag Smog | Ember | Astonish | Heatwave | Acid | Acid Armor

Cranidos | Rock-Type | Level 7 | Male | Mold Breaker Headbutt | Leer | Focus EnergyFlustered about why his attack had not worked, the Cranidos did not noticed the Litwick's next attack until it was too late. The small fireball followed by the rush of super hot air hit the rock-type. His skin resisted the attack some, but his body was beginning to weaken. Unsure of what to do, the dinosaur turned and sent a Leer towards the ghost-type. Immediately afterward, he felt a pang stronger than before as the poison continued to take hold. Cranidos was hit by EMBER Cranidos was hit by HEAT WAVE Cranidos used LEER Cranidos was hurt by Poison! [3/8 of total hp lost]

Devan frowned as the other pokemon seemed to be unaffected by Dusk’s powerful Ember and Heat Wave combination. That normally did a good bit of damage to most pokemon, this Cranidos must have some tough skin. This just might turn out to be a little bit harder than he thought. He smiled. No matter though, he would win this and once he did he would have a new friend to add to his team. The fact that his opponent was strong only made him want to capture it more! He looked up as the Cranidos used Leer. Dusk took a step back, a little intimidated by the other pokemon. Devan shook his head, no way was he going to let him get his partner that easily. He yelled to Dusk “Dusk snap out of it! You can do it!” Dusk shook her head and got out of the Cranidos’s leer but the effects had already occurred. Devan didn’t fail to notice though that the moment after Cranidos attacked it was hurt once again by the poisoning it had received earlier in the battle. That was good, he could see the effects were taking their toll on the tough little pokemon. He nodded to himself while he thought about his next move. Dusk’s defense had been lowered so he should do something about that but he also needed an offense. He nodded again, having made up his mind. “Dusk use Acid Armor then follow up with Acid!” Dusk nodded and said “Lit!” After that the litwicks body glowed once again and grew more liquid like as the move took effect then immediately after she shot the acid attack at the Cranidos, both trainer and pokemon hoping it would do something.

Cranidos | Rock-Type | Level 7 | Male | Mold Breaker Headbutt | Leer | Focus EnergyAs the acid attack splashed upon the Cranidos, he could feel himself weakening. Trying to hold out for one more attack, he began to focus again. The effort however, was too much and caused another sharp pain to shoot through his body. Poisoned and weak, the rock-type seemed to be struggling just to stand. It didn't look like he could survive another attack. Now would be the perfect time to either catch or defeat the pokemon. Cranidos was hit by ACID Cranidos used FOCUS ENERGY Cranidos was hurt by Poison! [4/8 of total hp lost] Cranidos is Weakened! (Also, I realized I forgot to answer your question. You only need to post your pokemon's info at the beginning of the battle. It's just to make sure things stay consistent. c: It's also easier to look at the attack that way.)

Devan looked over at the Cranidos to see if Dusk’s attack had hit and, if so, had it done some damage, or had it been brushed off like their fiery Ember and Heat Wave combination? He looked closely and smiled, it had hit the pokemon and the rock type looked significantly weakened. He always felt kind of bad in situations like this, having to hurt the pokemon to catch it. For instance right now was a great example. The pokemon looked like it was struggling just to stay on its own two feet, no way it would last another attack, no matter how strong it was. Shame that this was the only way to catch pokemon like this, he would love to be able to just go up to it, be nice, and have it come with him. Oh well, guess some things just couldn’t be avoided. He could see it was now weakened very much so if he was going to catch it now would be the best time. He reached behind him into his backpack and, after a brief moment of feeling around for it, grabbed hold of one of the pokeballs, his hand wrapping around the sphere. Pulling it out he looked at the Cranidos one more time then smiled at it. He threw the pokeball and said “Go pokeball!” it spun out from his hand and crossed the distance between Devan and the Cranidos quickly and Devan looked after it eagerly, still wearing a smile as he hoped for a new member to his team.

There was a moment of struggling, the red and white orb rocking back and forth, and then it was still. A soft click signaled the Cranidos' capture. Devan has captured Cranidos! Devan looked at the little pokeball eagerly, watching it rock back and forth. This was it! Would it hold the pokemon or would it escape and come back out to fight another round with himself and his faithful partner Dusk. She herself was also looking at the pokeball, her tiny fist clenched and an eager look planted on her face. Then it stopped moving and after a pause that felt like forever it gave the little ‘beep’ that let the pair know the pokemon had been caught. There would be no other round today, they had a new team mate. Devan smiled and so did Dusk as the happy trainer went over to the pokeball, bending down and picking it up then looking down at the round little sphere in his hand. He gave another wide smile. “Looks like we got ourselves a new friend and team mate, what do you think Dusk?” The little pokemon nodded and smiled, giving her trainer a cheerful “Litwick!” Devan extended his arm and his partner jumped up and onto his shoulder. He smiled at her and walked back to the rocks saying “That was a real stroke of luck wasn’t it?” Dusk nodded and said “Lit!” Devan continued on and said “But the bad part is, we still don’t know where we are and during the appearance of the Cranidos I got surprised and dropped our only map somewhere over there by those rocks. Hopefully its still there and the wind hasn’t blown it away….ah! There it is!” He reached down, picking the piece of paper up from behind one of the rocks and turning to Dusk. “Do you know where we are?” Dusk sighed.

Lunatone | Rock/Psychic-Type | Level 3 | Genderless | Levitate Tackle | Harden | ConfusionWhile the trainer questioned his location, another rock-type was approaching from behind. It was a rather large floating rock, it's shape reminiscent of a crescent moon. Silently, the Lunatone initiated an attack, a wave of warped psychic energy pulsing towards Dusk in the form of a Confusion attack. Wild Lunatone Appeared! Lunatone used CONFUSION

Dusk sighed as she watched her trainer hopelessly look at the piece of paper that they always consulted and was apparently their guide. She wished he could be a little better about knowing where they were going but oh well, guess she couldn’t expect him to do everything right. In the meantime she let out a peaceful “Liiit” as she basked in the sunlight and fresh air of the forest. Hm, what was that? She thought she’d heard a sound behind her, like leaves or something. Probably just the wind so- wait, there it was again. She turned around, looking to see what the sound was, just in time to be hit by the confusion attack. It made a direct hit and knocked the little Litwick to the ground, doing a lot of damage.
Devan was still trying to read the map and see where they were and was unfortunately failing. “Ugh! Its all just one big patch of greenery, how am I supposed to know where we are in all this!” He sighed and put the map away in his pack, deciding he was going to buy a digital one that would tell him where he was. He guessed they’d just have to pick a direction and go straight and eventually they’d get out of this place. He was about to tell this to Dusk when he heard her cry out and turned swiftly around. He saw her injured on the ground and ran over instantly, cradling her in his arms. “Dusk! Are you okay?!” Dusk smiled weakly and nodded, the pointed in the direction of the attack. Devan looked over to see a Lunatone, so that was the attacker. “Don’t worry buddy, we’ll get em. You take a nice long rest.” He took out her pokeball and gently returned her to it, putting it back on his belt as he grabbed another. Clicking it open he yelled “Go Bandit!” The sentret popped out of his pokeball and looked over at his trainer questionable. “That pokemon hurt Dusk! Were gonna get it back!” The Sentret turned towards the lunation looking pumped “Sen!” Devan nodded and said “Go Bandit! Use Defense Curl and Foresight!” This combination would not only raise Bandits defense but also prevent the Lunatone from dodging their attacks.

Lunatone | Rock/Psychic-Type | Level 3 | Genderless | Levitate Tackle | Harden | ConfusionAfter it's attack connected with the Litwick, another pokemon took her place. The Sentret appeared confused for a brief moment before receiving commands from his trainer. Lunatone watched the normal-type curl up into a tight, defensive, ball. Somewhat distracted by this, the psychic-type was caught in the Foresight attack. Undeterred, it charged forward, floating above the ground, and tried to slam into the Sentret with Tackle. Lunatone was hit by FORESIGHT Lunatone cannot evade! Lunatone used TACKLE (As you have sent out a new pokemon, please post the stats as you did for Dusk~)
