The little adventures she'd already had with her Pokémon were so exciting, though, so fulfilling, that it also felt like, perhaps, she'd been there for months too. She already wrote two letters to her family detailing as much of her adventure as possible, especially telling her family about her two new Pokémon partners, Frankie and Ziggy, and how she'd met them. Frankie was a lucky 'catch', one she'd won at a game in one of the towns in Unova, but Ziggy took even more ink. His was a most interesting meeting, and their time afterwards had been even more so. While Frankie was content to keep to himself and wander in circles around her, Ziggy was always getting into something for one reason and one reason only: food. Yukiko would always gently remind him to save his appetite or that eating too much would make him fat, but it was always a battle between them. She supposed that was why the other Zigzagoons didn't like him very much, but she didn't care: he was her little cooney, and he could do no wrong in her eyes. As the sun set on another day in Unova and Yukiko and her Pokémon wrapped up their dinners (Yukiko had to pull Ziggy away from his dish in the end) and headed for the beach. Frankie seemed extremely pleased to be by the water, skittering cheerfully and burrowing himself into the still warm sand. It was a good day, and one of the best times to sit outside and simply enjoy nature. "Did you have fun today?" she asked Ziggy, who was sitting in her lap, apparently forgotten the bit of drama after dinner. "~goon!" he replied cheerfully. "Good," she said, patting his head gently and looking up to see Suki sitting by the water's edge with her child, splashing it with water much to its delight. She smiled and hugged Ziggy close, who, once the initial shock had gone, learned to love the attention. "I'm glad we decided to come out here." |
