WELL HOW'S YOUR VIEW OF THINGS TODAY GOT UP YOUNG TO FADE AWAY THE SINNERS SIN BUT AREN'T AWARE OUR FABLES TAKE US EVERYWHERE biffy clyro - bubbles THE DAY WAS LIKE any other in her opinion. Seasons changed and it was little to no difference. These things you cannot control. You could not control whether the weather was hot or cold, how dry or wet it'd be and most of all when it'd start to snow or get so humid out you must endure the wrath of showing skin to strangers just to get comfortable. Today was summer. Today was mildly humid with a slight breeze. Walking along the route, she was glad for the water's side that always brought a cold front. Though she would not be able to cross the water to see what lay on the other side - and she had a pretty good idea there was something out there, something deliciously valuable - there it was. Content enough to stay here and wait. Patience. Fey Linarii was good at it. Her unusually light blue eyes looked over her shoulder. Carelessly checking if that thing was keeping up. So it was. Usually she carried it. Today she could not stand to touch it. Perhaps it was the weather, and yet the breeze was suitable enough for the lack of brittle air. No, no... It was because that thing was not alive. It may look like it was, even make squeaky little sounds and fake breathe but it was not. It could not be alive! It was not even human. Then again, she uttered a dry little chuckle, not even the humans were humans. They were people-who-looked-like-her but they were not even alive. Dead things masquerading as the living. As if she couldn't tell.
"Keep up, or you shall be left behind" the young woman directed this at 'the thing'. She had a smooth, honey-laced voice void of the venom it really wished to spit out. The voice carried, sing-song like. She made it so. It was all a game.
Avery the Eevee looked up at Fey's words. All ready puffing from the humidity, having such thick fur, and such short legs, he struggled forward. More like a stumble. ( Coming! I'm coming! Wait for me! ) Somehow he managed to rush to his human's side, looking up at her in the unmistakable way a child would look at their mother. I did good, didn't I? his eyes seemed to speak. She stared down at it, resisting the urge to kick. No, no. That solved nothing. Avery was an idiot but she needed him at his best. This route was unknown. Other things could jump out at any time. It was awhile to any town or city. She had few supplies. At least the Eevee knew battling moves. Kendall did not. He was useless and had no desire for violence. What a weakling. If he did not shape up soon, she'd dump that tadpole somewhere. And then were the other trainers. Such a blood lust they had only proved her own certainty they were not alive. Demanding battles, ha! She had nothing to prove by fighting them. Fey would get strong on her own, on her own time. Preparations needed to be made. It was all very confusing. First she needed to get a few things straight; this was an unknown land and she was not in her element. Perhaps some fool would come and help her find her bearings. At least let her look at their map or point her in the right direction. She'd settle for not having fun for awhile. CHAR'S FOOTNOTE; open for all! I don't want to battle with another trainer right now... I'm a bit out of practice. But hey, maybe a double wild Pokemon match? >3 That'd be awesome if it's allowedCODING TO; oh my gawd, my limited knowledge of table coding paid off. The weather would have been beautiful, if not for the humidity. Kai didn't mind the heat, but the sticky air was something she hated. At least there was a breeze, however slight, keeping the air moving. Still, she continued down the path, following along the shore. She briefly lifted her black fedora off her head to cool off.
"It's so hot," the groan was followed by a heavy sigh. This was just the beginning of her journey through Unova, and already she was complaining about something. Hopefully things cooled off soon. Ziva, her Eevee, chirped a quick agreement to her trainer, trotting along beside her. The goggles that the fox-like pokemon usually wore were hanging loosely around her neck.
Trainers were passing by her, having battles between themselves and with wild pokemon, but Kai went unnoticed by them. That was okay with her, she didn't think she was ready to fight against another trainer just yet. All she had was Ziva and Aiks. Ziva could stand up for herself, but Aiks was young and inexperienced. She was content to continue through this route alone when she spotted a Tepig. It was running away from a Magby, though the two could just be playing.
That was when she noticed Fey. This other trainer also had an Eevee, though this one appeared to be quite tired. The two fire-types were headed straight for the brunette, and Kai did not want to see someone get caught up in a two-on-one fight. She had no knowledge of Fey, but she knew that most of the trainers on this route were beginners like her.
"Come on Ziva!" charging forward, she called for her starter to follow her. "Try to cut off that Magby!" It would be easier to separate the fire-types from the back than the front, as that could just cause both of them to attack her. As her partner went to work, Kai made her way to Fey.
"Hello!" she called, waving. "My name is Kai. This is..kind of sudden, but there's some pokemon running towards you, and I'd like to lend a hand," starting to stutter a bit, the blonde-haired trainer rethought her statement a bit too late. "I-if you would like help that is.." she trailed off, hoping she hadn't offended this person.
Ziva meanwhile charged the wild Magby, aiming to Tackle it away from the Tepig. If things worked out the way they were planned, the fire pig would keep running and Ziva could face Magby one-on-one.
(OoC: I hope it's okay, jumping in like this. X3' Also, Eevee-starters! Words: 411 )

WELL HOW'S YOUR VIEW OF THINGS TODAY GOT UP YOUNG TO FADE AWAY THE SINNERS SIN BUT AREN'T AWARE OUR FABLES TAKE US EVERYWHERE biffy clyro - bubbles IT WAS HARD NOT to notice the commotion being made. Little frolic here gave no shelter, the trees so thick that not even a small sized human could squeeze into them. No, the only path was straight through. One of those routes you could stand at the start and stare right across to the other side. Noise carried. Fey didn't need the ample warning from the person-that-looked-like-her. She had ignored the two Pokemon until they strayed close. Avery let out a little call of warning; his trainer's back was turned and he, with his large ears, had switched position to look as soon as he heard the two Pokemon approach. ( I can get one. No... I can get both of them! ) he challenged, dropping into an aggressive stance, teeth bared at the Fires. They didn't seem to notice the Trainer and Eevee, otherwise they would have attacked by now. Fey glanced over her shoulder. Looking down she saw neither one very suitable. Just playing games, one bitchy about it but still playing games. The Fires were young but that was no excuse. She saw no potential. "I know you can" the words were mere whisper to her Avery. "Alas, your fun will be interrupted." Blue eyes switched from the Fire-types to the girl running toward her. There was another that-which-did-not-look-like-her. A thing that was Avery but was not. Avery belonged to Fey. This thing did not. It belonged to the thing before her. How amusing! A thing owning a thing. Could the dead own another dead thing? It ruined her fun. She wanted to see if Avery truly could go up against two of these demonfolk at the same time... But the girl ordered it's demon to attack one of the Fires. "Hello! ...My name is Kai. This is..kind of sudden, but there's some pokemon running towards you, and I'd like to lend a hand"No, truly? she resisted the urge to use sarcasm. Instead she made her eyes a bit shocked by the sudden appearance and offer of help. "I-if you would like help that is.." this Kai finished - she was always amused by how the dead named themselves - and Fey's own face broke out into a convincing smile. A smile that spoke for itself. Unsure, uneasy and not exactly sure what to make of this brief partnership. Also known as a 'rookie-winning-grin'. This Kai seemed nervous to assist. Fey would boost confidence by adding her own nervousness. "Oh, uh..." the auburn haired young woman plucked her hands together before one shot up to her hair and tugged at a long strand. "I saw them... I was going to ignore them and hoped they just ignored me too!" she gave a nerved laugh, eyes darting past Kai to the Pokemon. "O-of course, I could really use help now. They are not going to let us leave after that, hm?" pausing, she added to Avery; "Uh, Tackle that other one would you?" The Eevee nodded, no questions asked about why his Trainer was suddenly in another mood. He'd seen her like this before. A little charm here, a little moody here. Depending on different people she acted differently. He aimed to please. Again; no questions asked. That silly Kendall had nothing on him. Kendall was lazy and didn't do anything. Racing from Fey's side, the Eevee bounded over to help the other one of his species. While Ziva aimed to distract the Magby, Avery did the same thing with the Tepig. He rushed at the pig-like creature in hopes of contact and bodily harm. Before he used Tackle, he positioned his body so he separated himself between the two Wild Pokemon. A bold move. If the Magby attacked him, Avery's back was turned. He relied on short-term trust of the other Eevee to help out. BATTLE SUMMARY; Avery used TACKLE on the TEPIGCHAR'S FOOTNOTE; Thank you, Noki. x'D I actually had to get off the computer so quickly I forgot to post a request. thanks for the reminder and 'course it's OK to jump in! The Magby was just playing, wriggling its tiny fingers towards the Tepig was all just fun and games until some random force - because she didn't pay any mind to the humans, they was just so many of them that it didn't matter anymore - that collided into her shooting the Magby off course. A little frustrated that her game with Tepig was cut short, a purple fume came rushing out of her mouth in the form of a [SMOG].
Glad that the scarry magby had stopped following her, the Tepig could see the other Eevee coming its way. She was already running too fast to stop, and didn't really want to get hit... Just like James Bond, she barrel rolled to one side to avoid the Tackle. Being a cheeky little thing, it took the chance to wag its tail using [TAIL WHIP] to taunt the fox like pokemon.

Maybe Kai really had jumped to conclusions. The pokemon could have just continued on without taking notice to the trainers, but she had initiated battle. There was no turning back now. At least this was a two-on-two, they would have more of a chance working together.
The other trainer had accepted her help, though sounded nervous as well. Kai wandered if she should continue the conversation, but did not want to bother her. Besides, she had no idea what she could even say. Instead she decided to focus on the battle. If Fey wanted to start up a conversation, then she would gladly talk, but as of now she was uncertain.
"Ziva, use Covet this time!" she called to her partner, positioning herself to better see her side of the battle. So far it was unclear which pokemon, if any, had the upper hand.
Seeing the puff of smog, Ziva started to back up. She was too late however, and inhaled a small amount of the smoke. It hurt, but it could have been a lot worse. Coughing, she prepared herself for her next attack. Her trained had told her to use Covet. This Magby wasn't holding onto anything, but the attack could still do a good bit of damage.
The Eevee leapt straight for the Magby, nipping her teeth at the fire-type's hands and arms. Normally she would be trying to make the other pokemon drop something, but right now she just wanted to do damage. All the while, she was making sure the Magby didn't attack Avery.
Ziva was hit by SMOG Ziva used COVET on wild MAGBY
