There was nothing quite like a nighttime swim. Having already changed into a plain pair of swimming trunks that he had brought along, Bane was wading into the river. Once he got to a deeper part, he immersed himself in the cool water. It was late in the night, so there were not as many pokemon active as there were during the day. Even if he did run into something, his partner was nestled under his coat on the shore, ready to jump in if he was needed. It was so quiet, only the soft babble of the running river and the clicks and chirps of bug-types in the trees to fill the night. Even the sky was clear, as far as Bane could see anyway. Could this night get any better?
After finding a spot to lean against, Bane closed his eyes and allowed himself to relax. It felt like he was always on guard, afraid for either himself or someone else. This river didn't care who he was. He posed no threat to it, nor did it pose a threat to him. He could just relax here under the stars and enjoy this bit of time to himself. Nothing else mattered right then, just the feel of the current against his body as it curved around him to continue on it's path downstream. If any pokemon passed, he took no notice or care. He stayed like that for a while, finally moving only so he did not fall asleep there.
The dark-haired man returned to the deeper part of the river, hovering there for a moment. As he swam in place, he looked around. Now that he had relaxed for a bit, he was feeling eager for a pokemon battle. He wondered if he could spot anything swimming in the river as well this night.

[atrb=border,0,true]A WILD POLIWAG HAS APPEARED !level five • male • water • damp water sport&bubble As a water type, the male Poliwag took it upon itself to go out into the lake. He was a water type after all. It would be un-sightly for a water type not to be in the water. He did have legs though, and they could've been used for things other then swimming, but swimming was easier to do. And much more fun at that. The small male Poliwag entered the lake and started swimming to entertain himself. He dove downward into the water, and thats when she spotted them. Legs, human ones at that as well. What was a human doing in the lake? His lake even more. The Poliwag was now upset. How dare this filithy human pollute this wonderful lake with their un-slightly pollutants. The Poliwag swam to the human and popped up then. He was glaring, the best he could, at the human. Un-sightly of the thing to pollute the lake. It was up to the human if he wanted to fight or if he just wanted to ignore the floating Poliwag, the Poliwag would've preferred either. |

It had been quite awhile since Bane had entered the river before anything had approached him. A smirk crossed the young man's face as he noticed the Poliwag. Just what did this pokemon want? He seemed to be trying to glare, but the cutesy, round, water-type just looked silly to Bane. Perhaps it was time for some fun. "Brave," he called softly, tilting his head towards the shore. "I think it's time for a game." A soft snicker escaped the starter hiding under the coat before it darted towards the water. He moved quickly, taking note of what the Poliwag looked like. This was always a fun game, mimicking the opponent to catch them off guard. Diving into the water, the Zorua let his Illusion take hold, disguising himself as a Poliwag identical to the one near his master. When Brave reemerged, he no longer resembled a fox, but instead looked like another round tadpole. He swam over to the Poliwag and stared at it, waiting for a reaction.
Bane always found his Zorua's antics simultaneously intriguing and amusing. It caught nearly everything and everyone off guard. He wished Brave could imitate objects, it would make this little game that much more exciting. A watch suddenly turning into your double? Bane loved the idea, but was content with what he had here. He didn't think this Poliwag would be trouble for Brave in a battle, though caution was always a good idea. For now, he would wait to see if the water-type would make the first move.

[atrb=border,0,true]A WILD POLIWAG HAS APPEARED !level five • male • water • damp water sport&bubble The Poliwag didn't know what to expect out of the trainer, but it seemed too call his Pokemon to hand. It was surprising to the Poliwag what the trainer had called. Another Poliwag, how odd. It didn't faze the Poliwag, obviously this Pokemon had good taste in Pokemon because Poliwags were among the best water types to use, at least in this Poliwags opinion. This didn't stop him from attack one of his own kind of course. He faced the other Poliwag and let out [ BUBBLE ] as its attack. The small swarm of bubbles traveled toward the other Poliwag, and the Poliwag hopped it would hit its other. |

A grin crossed Bane's lips upon seeing the small shock the Poliwag had experienced when it's mirror image popped up in front of it. The reaction really was Bane's favorite part, and his little Zorua agreed. Sadly, the wild pokemon didn't seem to be that phased by the surprise. They would just have to step up their game to make things more exciting. As the small bubbles of water hit the disguised Brave, his Illusion began to wear off. Blue skin faded to black fur, the Zorua's true nature being revealed. Shaking the water droplets from his fur, the dark-type also tried to shake the lingering sting from the Poliwag's attack. There was no letting that go. Grinning to match his trainer, Brave snickered at his opponent. He was confident in his trainer and his own skill, perhaps too confident. Even so, this would not be an easy fight for the wild pokemon. "Brave, let's start off with a Dark Pulse," Bane spoke calmly, pulling himself up onto the shore. It was easier and more comfortable to watch without having to keep himself afloat. There would always be more time for swimming once the battle was over. It was such a shame that a pokemon he found so worthless had interrupted his swim. At least it would make for good training. Obeying his trainer's commands, Brave let out a barrage of dark energy. It pulsed toward the Poliwag quickly, shooting out in an attempt to strike hard. This was the young Zorua's most powerful attack, he hoped it would serve him well. [atrb=border,0,true]A WILD POLIWAG HAS APPEARED !level five • male • water • damp water sport&bubble Wait, what was happening to the other Poliwag? The Poliwag was surprised as the other Poliwag suddenly blur over, to be replaced by a dark fox like creature. Was this some kind of trick? Before he could make up his mind, a dark haze suddenly shot at him, the Dark Pulse pushing him backwards as the black haze touched his body. He fell over, but jumped back up to his feet. Well that was kind of weird. The attack didn't do much physical damage, but he was starting to feel tired. He had to get out of here. The Poliwag gave a little bounce step backwards before tilting his head, and body, upwards, sending a spray of water towards the sky. The water quickly fell back to the ground, soaking most of the battlefield. The Poliwag could only hope that the Zorua would be distracted enough for him to make his escape. Male Poliwag was hit! Male Poliwag used Water Sport! |
