It was a subject she did not enjoy having people comment on, especially a mere stranger that had put two and two together form the handful of signs that no matter was she did she could not hide. She barely knew the girl and the things that had caused her issue with the substance were rather touchy a subject for her and she'd rather never get into that with a stranger. She was barely able to tell the people that she was close to about the things that had happened when she was a a child, there was no way she would be saying it to some one that she barely even knew. She much preferred the cases where people took notice but made no comment towards it. This was not their issue to butt into nor did she deserve aid on this issue, it was simply one for her to deal with on her own. "I'm not bad with anything. I gave up on those sorts of problems years ago, there's no point in them. All they do is hinder you." She said, her voice a touch bit harsh in warning for the girl not to comment on the subject a second time. It was one better of dropped entirely by both parties if things were to continue going well. She wasn't the sort to back down from something after all. She had done enough of that in her life, she had sat back and taken too much and ran too often before. No more, she'd stand her ground if this girl didn't take the warning as she should. The Vulpix looked up at the new arrival though she also noted the tone of her trainers voice and that it wasn't the best of signs. She huffed just like her trainer had before but her's was simply a funny mimcry of sorts. She stuck her tongue out at the Umbreon rather as a fairly playful gesture.

Nix nodded her head at the girls words and recognised her own stubbornness in her attitude and nearly smiled at it but she knew it wasn't the time so she bit down on her lip to stop herself. She didn't say anything as a reply in fear of angering the girl more and seeing as shadow had finally found someone female to play with, she really didn't want to have to tear her away from the cute little vlupix all over a misunderstanding. Besides, she and the other girl had been getting on all right before then so she just needed to remember to avoid the topic of water to keep that friendly relationship going forwards.

"can I ask how old she is?" nix said on handily before nodding in the vulpix's direction, "all my boys tend to have another member of out about their age so they seem to get on best with them, phantom and Tain are like brothers and my three B boys are the same. Me and shadow are the same person in two different bodies but I'm a human so it's not quite the same" she said with a small smile as shadow reached out a paw and tapped one of the vulpixs many tails before twitching her ears and tapping each tail in turn and laughing to herself

She really did hate to have to get rough with people despite how she may have otherwise acted on a regular basis. Sure she liked a good tussle or two but she was so heartless as to not feel at least a little bad for someone after she had hurt them. Especially if it was over something so small and yet it was the only way some people learned sometimes. At least for today that would not be the case and she could return to her usual polite smile and chatter without any sort of problem arising. Now hopefully the girl kept the hint in mind and simply walked away from the subject any other time it cropped up. "Not very, she's a bit young. Close to a half a year now I think." The blond sighed, that also meant it was about half a year ago she had lost her first Ninetales, a pokemon by the name of Meryl. The fire type had drowned after saving its trainer and the incident still haunted Maiya as well as the Vulpix who had been freshly hatched when it happened. The young fox hadn't even gotten to spend very long with its own mother before she was gone. But it wasn't too surprising when one thought about it, it was just like a Ninetales to be so fiercely loyal to its trainer as to give its life like her own had. She missed the girl but every day that went by little Laura was taking more and more after her mother. She knew this little fox of her's was going to be quite the Ninetales when she got older. "She's a curious one, Laura tends to get along well with most everyone. Might be a tad more playful than some would like still though, she's just a babe after all. My team gets along well despite any age difference though so I don't pay it much mind myself." The blond shrugged. The only problems on her team seemed to come from the anti social lunatone that just couldn't stand people, the uncooperative bursts from her hitmonchan and the occasional fight that got picked by her oddish. She still wondered how she managed to be the one with such an oddball team.

Nix nodded her head and then smiled to herself ,"shadows actually the youngest on our team. Phantom was my first pokemon and will soon be a gallade, Tain came second and has a bit more work to go before he evolves. My new boys are all the same age but bubbles is the peaceful and mature one while blaze and bolt like to battle about anything and everything" she said with a chuckle to herself. "shadow is the youngest and only girl aside me so she has life a little harder but shes like a missing part of me so she always stays out by my side unless she's sleepy. But I just find it funny that all my team are boys aside her, I mean what are the odds?" she said with a snigger as she watched shadow paw at the vulpixs tails again and then sit back and lift both paws so she could tap two tails at a time.

"may I ask how many others you have on your team? Or is that rude of me? I always like to know what people train as some times it can tell you things about them" she said with a smile but friendly smile as she noted the other pokeballs sitting on the other girls belt
