The pathway that leads you through Route 16 tended to have people coming and going at all times, however today it was rather quit and the only person on it was a young blonde haired youth. Athrun was running down the pathway heading towards the more forest like section of Route 16, he always enjoyed going there to play hide and seek with Prince his Litwick. Today was going to be one of those days; he looked forward to the simpler days when there was nothing to do but take a walk or play outside with Prince. As he passed a woman walking along with her Psyduck he smiled at her, he was always smiling at people no matter where he was or what he was doing there was a smile on his face and he would offer it to anyone who would glance his way.
There was no time to see if the woman smiled back, his feet were moving too fast to slow down. The peaceful silence was broken by the sound of sneakers hitting pavement, the faster repetitive sound attracted no attention as it was normal around these parts. As he neared the thick trees that signalled the start of the forest, feet began to slow down until he came to a complete stop right at the edge of the trees. Bright green eyes glanced around as heavy breaths were taken, the soft panting sound he made as he caught his breath came fast and rugged. His hand snatched a poke ball from his belt; sun kissed fingers touched the white button causing the ball to enlarge. "Come on out Prince" a red light shot forth from the poke ball, forming on the ground in front of him was Prince who was in fact a Litwick the candle Pokémon.
"Lit Lit Lit Wick Wick" the Pokémon cried out as it nuzzled his owner’s leg, the warmth of its skin and the flame atop its head was always comforting. "Come on Prince, shall we take a walk before we play a game or two" his lips tugged into a smile as he turned on his heel and began to wall along the edge of the forest, Prince was always right behind him.

Snivy | Grass-Type | Level 6 | Female | Contrary Tackle | LeerUp ahead a Snivy was sitting a top a large rock on the side of the path. She had her eyes closed, her body soaking up the bright summer sunlight. It was a very nice day, beautiful for the grass-type. The heat felt amazing and rejuvenated the snake. There was no reason for her to care about the trainer and Litwick that were approaching. Wild Snivy Appeared!

Athrun had spent more time out here then he could count, growing up in Nimbasa City of course meant he had spent much of his youth out here. It was one of the reasons his parents never minded when he went to play near the woods, he knew the land like the back of his hand and now that he had a Pokémon with him he was much safer. He smiled to himself as he thought of the Prince, Prince was his first Pokémon and he couldn't be happier with what he got. Ever since he was little he had always wanted a Litwick, he had found it so amazing that a candle Pokémon with a flame on top of its head would never melt.
Athrun also really liked ghost Pokémon, but that was just because he found them to be rather fun to have around. As he continued walking along, his eyes fell upon a rather large rock which wasn't that strange since it had always been there. It was what was lying on the rock that caught his eye; he had never seen any Pokémon hanging around the rock before. A hand shot to his back pocket to pull out his pokedex, flipping it open and pointing it at the grass snake Pokémon the screen lit up and a digital image of the Pokémon before him appeared.
"Snivy the grass snake Pokémon, They photosynthesize by bathing their tails in sunlight. When they are not feeling well, their tails droop." a mechanical female voice broke the silence.
The pokedex was flipped shut and placed back in his pocket, he studied the Pokémon a little more before he decided on something. "Prince I think we are going to make a new friend today" with that he gave a nod of his head before turning to look at his Pokémon, yellow eyes looked up at him before they turned their attention on the sleeping Pokémon. "Litwick". The blonde took a few careful steps closer to the Pokémon; he didn't want to scare her away. "Snivy time to wake up, You’re going to be my new friend" with that the candle Pokémon glided in front of him, eyes set with determination ready for a battle.

Snivy | Grass-Type | Level 6 | Female | Contrary Tackle | LeerAs the Snivy heard the trainer approach, her eyes flew open. She jumped back to put distance between herself and the intruder. Shifting into a defensive stance, she glared back at the Litwick, a menacing Leer on her face. The sunbathing made her feel strong and she was ready for this battle. They wanted to make 'friends', well she certainly didn't want to!

When the grass snake Pokémon stood up for the challenge, Athrun was rather pleased that she hadn't run away like some tended to. He studied the small green body and face of the Snivy, the Pokémon before him looked a little smug but that was something he knew she couldn't help. However the one thing that did stand out was just how cute she was, the small grass snake was the perfect shade of green and the way her tail of leaves moved was almost like a fan. "You're so cute Snivy, Prince we can't get carried away and hurt Snivy to much ok?" looking down at his own Pokémon he gave a nod of the head, the small ghost candle looked up at his master and nodded back at him.
The duos attention was now back on the Pokémon before them, they hadn't had much battle experience and in fact Athrun only knew the basics. However he did know the type chart off by heart, so at the current moment it was the only thing he had to go with. Snivy was a grass type which meant bug and fire type attacks would do the most damage to her, which also meant if he used some of Prince's fire attacks he could weaken her quickly and wouldn't have to draw out the battle to much. "Prince Start off with an Ember attack" his perky voice came out loud and strong, he pointed a single finger at in the direction of the wild Pokémon.
Prince opened his mouth as fire began to build up inside, the flames quickly formed a small ball of fire. Taking aim at the other Pokémon, he wasted no time it in beginning his attack. From the small fire ball that had formed even smaller fire balls shot off and went flying towards the other.

Snivy | Grass-Type | Level 6 | Female | Contrary Tackle | LeerSnivy could see the fireball forming, and she prepared herself to move. Doing her best to dodge the Ember, the Snivy still got hit by a few stray flames. It was certainly painful, the fire super effective against the grass-type, but she still followed through with a Tackle on the Litwick. She charged forward, aiming to slam her shoulder into Prince. Snivy was hit by EMBER [Super Effective] Snivy used TACKLE
