A small group of Butterfree flew off in the distance, capturing the last rays of sunlight that they could before Dustox claimed the sky. The forest was getting darker quickly, soon the last rays of light would no longer be able to reach into the dense woodland, and plunge everything into a black abyss. "I wonder if there are any Volbeat and Illumise around these parts.." He wondered out loud taping his index finger to his chin. He glanced down at his side to make sure Raven was following, the Umbreon seemed ready to light up her rings when ever it got too dark for her lord and master to see; all she needed was that command. He smirked at the sight, obviously glad that she was less of a.. happy go lucky Eevee and just a little more attentive. A little more was the key word... she did infact run off just moments ago chasing after one of those floating weed plant seeds. In one of his arms, he held the Sableye egg close to his chest. The other Sandile egg was in his shoulder bag, since it was far too much of a hastle to carry them both at once. "Sableye... you have no idea how excited I am for you to hatch!~" He chirped happily, holding the egg up to the weakening sunlight with both hands above his head as if he was Raftiki from the Lion King showing off Simba... Excited was probably an understatement, adding one more ghost pokemon to his team made the man ecstatic, he could barely muster up the willingness to put down the damn egg just in case it would hatch. He wante dto be there for the birth of one of his most favored Ghost type Pokemon... Ghost and Dark, if Pokemon could be three elements at once, all Sableye needed was to be a Poison type too and then BAM. It would be the most badass Pokemon he would ever lay eyes upon... Or at least one that would steal his heart forever. As the light faded, slowly Raven's rings started to glow faintly in responce. The moon would be only half tonight, as they could already spot it in the dark blue-ish purple sky. Distracted, the man didn't notice that his path was being cut short, "AARRRRGGHHHH!!" and he slipped on the moss to slide down the thing onto a pile of leaves below. An explosion of leaves were sent airborn, fluttering around him while some landed in his hair, hoodie and Arceus forbid.. in his jacket. Raven was a little more elegant in her decent, she slid down the trunk on all fours as if she was surfing the moss, and landed just beside the leaves, careful not to collide with her sprawled out trainer. She walked up to nose his hand and demanded to be pat, lifting his hand over her head affectionately. "Oh haha... show off." He stroked the Umbreon's head with only a little hesitation.

Regardless, it had been a good while since his last trip here. He vaguely recalled his first visit in which he had failed miserably to catch a grumpy Sewaddle. Instead of leaving with a new Pokemon, he ended up having to pry the leftovers of a String Shot on both himself and his Emolga. It was no mystery as to why his partner, who was normally always up for any sort of battle, was a bit hesitant to battle with any bug-type Pokemon nowadays.
Since then, he had only passed through on his way to Castelia and mainly stuck to the paths. He didn't want to be encountering any wild Pokemon that would prove to be a hassle as long as he could help it. It was late, with the sun setting and the moon rising in the sky above. It was far too late for him to muster enough energy to concentrate on a battle. As he walked, he stopped to glance up just as a group of Butterfree fluttered above.
His sleepy Emolga clung to his shoulder as her eyes drooped, but she jolted awake at the sight. The other member of his team, an unhatched egg, was stored away carefully in his backpack. "Emol, emol!" she chirped, waving her arms about excitedly. Kieran glanced over at her with his brows raised. "Do you want to join them, Emolga?" he asked jokingly, smiling. Emolga pouted in response and scurried down her trainer's back and pushed her way into his bag where she wrapped her paws around the egg as if to protect it. Taking that as evidence of her grumpiness, he shrugged his shoulders and continued on his way down the path.
It wasn't that much later that he heard an odd sound coming from the distance. The area the sound was originating from was also off of the safety of the path. He hesitated his want to investigate just in case it was a person or a Pokemon that injured themselves by falling. Eventually, he pushed his hesitation aside and lightly jogged towards the source of the noise. "H-Hello?" he called nervously. "Is anyone there?" Almost as soon as he finished his sentence, he found himself standing before another trainer and his Umbreon. From the looks of it, he had been walking and then slid down to fall where he was sitting now. That was just something he would have done if he wasn't looking. The thought brought a small smile to his lips, but it vanished as he cleared his throat awkwardly and stepped forward to extend a hand to the stranger.
"A-Are you alright? That looks like a b-bit of a fall." Kieran said, glancing up to where he had fallen from. If his hand was taken, he would pull back a bit to help Dex to his feet. Once he was standing, Kieran stepped back shyly and patted down his pant legs. At all the sudden noise, Emolga poked her head outside of his backpack and gazed curiously at the strangers that stood before them. He leaned back from where he now sat, using the log behind him as some kind of pillow. The contact of his skull against the hard hollow surface thud against the cooling air. His hand still brushing Raven's ebony head, the ring in the center of her forehead was glowing just enough to give her ruby eyes a little more warmth. He sighed, after this his back and legs and probably arms - where ever he bounced really - would be horribly bruised in the morning. Good thing he was accustomed to wearing the coat, or else he might look like some kind of beaten house wife. Staring up at the darkening sky, he started to count the stars as they slowly revealed themselves one by one... "H-Hello?" a distant voice called out. "Hi." he answered in a voice only above a whisper. "Ha!" He had to laugh, he felt like for a moment he was going crazy. Saying hello to some random voice with no face. He bloody well knew this wasn't the all mighty creator himself; the boy met Arceus and knew that this timid voice did not belong to the singing and Lazar Firin legendary creature. He was either hearing things, or someone was curious about the yelling. "Is anyone there?" Nawh, someone was around, or else his imagination was just that great. Hearing the footsteps finally come nearer until they stopped, he guessed the other was standing just a couple feet away now. Not lifting his head from the fallen tree pillow, he lowered his gaze to where his feet were hiding the others face. Letting one foot fall to the side, he finally made eye contact before the other extended a hand to help lift him up. He smiled mentally; a little polite kid! Timid by the stutter, or maybe just a random speech impediment that made it seem so. He only touched the kid's hand to somewhat accept the help up. The rest was all his work; never did he really like accepting any kind of help. Taking a moment after the kid's final question to look himself over; lifting a sleeve to check one of his arms and patted down his slightly sore rib cage, he smiled coyly. "No broken bones, everything seems to be here. So yeah, I'm fine~" His eyes roamed the kid, looking for anything interesting. He was getting a little tight on cash, and if he could find anything on this kid worth the chance... He just might take a little dip in his public piggy bank. "But saaaay--" He leaned forward a bit on the kid, widening his eyes innocently in a curious fashion. "What brings you out here? Other than Sasquatch falling off his throne that is."The Umbreon was probably not as timid as she use to be when she was an Eevee... But she was still just a little nervous around new faces, more so uncomfortable. She eyeballed the Emolga as it peeked up from its owner, and silently communicated that she would be keeping a close eye on it... No sneaky business...
