| [atrb=style,margin-top:-5px;,bTable] it was summer, was it not? and yet, there was a rather heavy downpour. the hot summer sun had disappeared behind dark grey clouds in an instant and before long, there were heavy drops of rain slowly plopping onto the ground. the grass in route seven was a little marshy already, what with the tall grass and the large puddles in the ground, but the rain definitely didn't help. good thing lucy was always prepared. without a moment's thought, she had her large umbrella out and over her head, shielding her from the worst of the rain. the raindrops thudded on the fabric of the umbrella and from what lucy could tell, she was rather glad that she had it; there were some trainers now ducking under trees and even trying to use the thin wooden railway as a means of shelter.
perhaps it was because she had an umbrella, but lucy felt rather positive today. well, that wasn't really a feat as she always felt positive. but there was something different about today. it had to be a good day now. originally she had started off just to explore and look for more wild pokemon when the skies had suddenly darkened and let down rain. but rain was not enough to put a damper on her day. with a large smile on her face--quite the opposite when compared to the unfortunates without an umbrella, really--lucy continued on, walking around the puddles and avoiding the tall grass.
but after a bit of wandering in circles, she soon realized that she couldn't exactly get anywhere unless she went through the tall grass--or went on those thin little platforms that were high up in the air. rather high, she noted, looking up at them. lucy had already decided that she couldn't get through the tall grass, not with the umbrella. or, well, not easily. she'd somehow have to maneuver the large device (it really was quite large) up and over the grass, and she wasn't sure if her skinny little arms could hold it up. the other choice, with the thin rails ... well, she would just have to strike it out completely. there was absolutely no way she was going to be up there, with or without the umbrella.
suddenly, there was a flash and a few seconds later, the deep rumbling of thunder rolled by. lucy turned to look at the sky with wide eyes. ohno. thunder? she might be able to handle rain, but thunder ... well, that was a different story entirely. thunder meant loud noises and .... well, really loud noises. she had half the mind to turn around and go back to mistralton city to wait out the storm. she would use the fact that she couldn't continue on with her umbrella as an excuse, and pretend that the thunder didn't bother her at all. after all, it was only thunder, right?
just the sky growling at you loudly.
but then, frieda (who had been on lucy's shoulder the entire time) let out a little "piiiii?" and lucy suddenly had a change of heart. no, lucy bright did not get scared by any old thunderstorm. she was better than that. she'd put on a brave face, if at least for frieda. so she turned back to what she had been pondering before, trying to decide between trekking through the tall grass or somehow crossing the high rails.

[style=font-size: 10px; font-family: Arial; color: #656565; padding: 10px; text-align: justify; border-right: 4px solid #dcdcdc; text-transform: none;] There was a certain feeling in the air. Red was always jumping straight into a situation. It was as if God was there to always say 'F U' and it pissed Red off. He had a chance to get an umbrella, did he take it? No. He was too good for umbrella's, and there was no reason to need one. He was sure it wasn't going to rain, and Raito also agreed. There was no need to worry, but now that he was drenched, it was different. He thought of turning around, but the eggs he had were his main focus. Were they really gonna be okay getting drenched in this downpour? He didn't really understand it, but maybe.
"Raito, what do you think?" he turned to the companion on his shoulder, who seemed to be meditating calmly. Then, when he heard Red speak his ears perked and he gave Red his attention. "Should we head for the next town, or head back? I think possibl--" stopping mid sentence, he noticed someone in the distance with an umbrella. There was a sense of relief hitting him, as he slowly picked up his pace to close the distance between the two of them.
"HEY!" he yelled, this time, he didn't know what to say. He'd have to be nice to them, to get to be underneath their umbrella.
The rain was pouring down on Raito and Red, it was as if there was just a single cloud following them which rained much harder than everywhere else. Was it karma? Red didn't quite care, he just knew he needed to get underneath something soon, or he might start melting.
"Yo, dude." Finally he caught up, since they had stopped and seemed to be pondering something. "You mind sharing that umbrella, man?" Red saw the person in the rain. It was difficult to tell genders apart, but he could usually see by those with or without breasts. Sometimes even their feminine figure, but right now there was no such telling. All he could see was the figure, and rain. Though somehow the thunder and lightning illuminated her figure to be slightly masculine to him. So he had no idea what she really was at this point.
Raito actually knew the gender of the human, and actually found Red's mistake as funny, and really did like the aura of this human. She seemed kind, and caring. For some reason, Raito lightened up, looking at Red and the girl in front of him. Wondering what was gonna happen, but knowing Red... Nothing good ever happened with people, he was always socially awkward. | [atrb=style,margin-top:-5px;,bTable] because of the rain, lucy had placed her pokemon egg in her bag, so she could handle the umbrella better. it also meant that the messenger bag's strap was now digging into her shoulder, but she would deal with it, as it meant that the egg would be kept dry and safe, instead of having to worry about the fact that she would only be carrying it with one hand. now that she knew that a thunderstorm was picking up, she was glad that she had made that choice. part of her also wanted to put frieda safely away, but the little caterpie was good company, at least.
when the voice first called out, lucy hardly gave it a thought. it obviously wasn't for her--why would it be? so she continued debating whether she should brave the tall grass or the terrifying rails. at this point, it seemed to her that she would never go up on the thin platforms. even without the umbrella she wasn't sure she'd be able to, and with it, the situation seemed nigh impossible. but going through the tall grass would also be rather difficult. navigating through it with the large umbrella ... well, she could always put the umbrella away for a moment, but in all honesty, she did not want to be left in the open to the mercy of the heavy raindrops. though, now that seemed to be the only easy solution. lucy sighed in defeat. then, she took a deep breath to steel herself. she could do it, she could.
one hand was raised to close the umbrella and almost at the clasp when there was a voice close by. startled, lucy turned, only to see a tall male, looking absolutely drenched. "oh! oh, here, of course~!" lucy stuttered, surprised to see him. she shifted the large umbrella and took a step closer to him so that they were now both under the device's protection. though, she doubted that it would help much now--he looked like he was drenched to the bone. "you look absolutely soaked--why don't you go back to the pokemon center in mistralton city?" she fretted. if he stayed out here, he was going to catch a cold.
there she was, caring about someone she had just met. that was the way lucy was--and honestly, frieda looked up to her because of it. the little caterpie had shrunk back when the strangers had approached, then carefully peeked past the curtain of lucy's hair. her large black eyes blinked as she looked at the strange blue and black pokemon, before she saw the tall man and let out a squeak, hiding again.

[style=font-size: 10px; font-family: Arial; color: #656565; padding: 10px; text-align: justify; border-right: 4px solid #dcdcdc; text-transform: none;] Suddenly her voice rang out. For a second it confused Red. The person in front of them didn't sound very manly, but yet when the rain went away her figure still wasn't very noticeable. Perhaps there was some way to find out of this persons gender? It would bother Red to the end of times if he didn't find this out. For some reason Raito had slipped off his shoulder when the umbrella came over them. The girl sounded so sweet, so innocent, what was this? Perhaps Red felt embarrassed now, it was sad. He felt like he needed to know, looking down, he didn't say anything.
She was right, he should have turned back around. He should have went back to town, but he was arrogant. Even he knew this himself, it was one of his great qualities. There wasn't much he could tell at this point, he didn't even reply to her, for some reason he had shivers. Knowing that he had to break his silence, he forced words out.
"Well, I can't. You see, I made some haters back there..." it was true. There were tons of people that hated him now. He had been seen kicking his Lilipup, and everyone found that mean. They pratically chased him out of the town. Though he did have the chance for an umbrella, since when he was chased he ran into the Pokemon Center, and obviously the nurse was kind to anyone. So she offered him the advice of the weather forecast and an umbrella. Perhaps he really should have taken it. Then he was silent for a few moments.
For a moment the silence was terrible, he had to... He needed to tell this persons gender, there was no other way around it... Thinking it over briefly, he reached his hand out, and suddenly grasped unto the girl's chest. It was soft, but very small. He could tell she had breasts, and suddenly Red looked shocked, then for some reason there was more silence. What was this? Why was Red not acting himself anymore? Where was Raito? Looking around, Raito was at the girl's shoulder now. This was odd, Raito never liked anyone but Red. It kind of pissed Red off, but Raito looked happy. | [atrb=style,margin-top:-5px;,bTable] "oh." well, if he had been chased out of the city, it didn't seem very smart to go back. though, she couldn't fathom what someone had to do to get chased out of a city. she was sure he had probably just been misunderstood. right? right. but that still left them with a dilemma. if they couldn't go back to the city, that meant that the best they could do was try and keep going on to icirrus city--but the reason lucy was stuck here still remained.
the two both fell into silence, though it was a nice sort of silence--at least, lucy thought so. accompanied by the raindrops on her umbrella and the rustle of the tall grass, it felt like a good day. suddenly, she felt a weight on her leg, then it moved up her back and settled onto her shoulders. frieda let out a squeal and shifted around, trying to avoid getting squished by this new pokemon--who was trespassing onto her trainer, mind you. she let out a little huff, though she wasn't going to say anything about it. frieda could learn to share--she'd have to, if lucy was going to gain more and more pokemon as part of her team. "well hello there," she greeted the new pokemon. she had no idea what to call it, as she had never seen such a pokemon before, but it looked friendly enough.
she had just been looking at the new pokemon when she suddenly felt a hand on her breast. she dropped her gaze to her chest, then followed the arm until she found herself looking at the man who was sharing her umbrella with her. her mouth dropped, trying to form words, though nothing seemed to come out. lucy felt her face flush with warmth as she turned bright red. in all honesty, she had been a bit of a loner back home and she had never really had much of an experience when it came relationships, which meant that in certain physical aspects, she was a complete virgin. unable to form complete sentences, she moved back, away from red and his violating hand. but as the umbrella was more or less attached to her, she also pulled it away, leaving red under the mercy of the rain once more.
still, in the midst of being molested, she felt sorry for leaving him under the rain (though it probably didn't hurt him, as he looked absolutely soaked anyway) and took a half-step closer, just barely sheltering him under the umbrella. her gaze dropped to the ground, as she still didn't know what to say exactly. but frieda, who was normally quiet and liked to stay out of such confrontations, gave an angry squeak and shot a string shot attack at the man, aiming squarely for the center of his face. she would not allow her trainer to be violated like that, thank you very much.

[style=font-size: 10px; font-family: Arial; color: #656565; padding: 10px; text-align: justify; border-right: 4px solid #dcdcdc; text-transform: none;]There was the crazy moments in Red's head, that even told him what he was doing was wrong, though his curiosity killed him. Sadly though, this wasn't the first time he had done this to someone. He was judging so many manly women before, he almost used their breasts as the vital key. Some of them even had huge breasts, but yet he still felt them. Just to see if they weren't balloons or something. It was odd how Red ticked, but within the moments of grabbing her breeasts, it didn't last very long. Red's expression didn't change, but soon his attitude did.
The rain hitting his head was obvious, he was still wearing his hat, and yet he could still feel every drop. There was so much rain, but suddenly it stopped. He was aware she moved, but she had moved back? Who was this girl. This was so odd, she didn't hit him. She didn't slap him, she was blushing. Perhaps she enjoyed it? Perhaps he didn't know much about women as he thought. They could sometimes enjoy a strangers grasp?
Then, all of a sudden he felt something hit his face. He was blinded for a moment, and as he wiped the string from his face, it seemed to tangle in his hat. Slowly, he fixed it, and glared at the Caterpie that rested on her shoulder. Growing angry, this reminded him that there was supposed to be weight on his shoulder. Why it did so, he did not know... Raito was gone, suddenly he began to pani. Then as he squinted at the girl, he saw him on her shoulder.
Why? Why did Raito leave Red? It was kind of depressing, but yet Red was still in a mix of emotions. His hand reached out again, this time he said something to her as he did so. "You're a woman, right?" This was odd, since Red actually did hear her voice, and did just feel up her breasts (no matter how small) and actually for a moment this time he was doing it for the pleasure of it, since obviously he wasn't smacked last time. What's the deal with checking once more? Red thought, as he groped her again.
Raito actually had noticed the Caterpie, and seemed to not really care in sharing the shoulders of the lady. For some reason her overall aura comforted Raito, and Red being the anti-social nut he is, might be messing things up. Though he could tell Red's attitude had changed after the Caterpie shot a string at Red. For a second, Raito looked at the Caterpie, and waved to get it's attention. For a moment Raito feared for the Caterpie's life, and suddenly he began to shake his head as soon as he got it's attention. As if to tell him to not attack Red again. | [atrb=style,margin-top:-5px;,bTable] lucy might be a little slow sometimes, but she wasn't dumb. this time when red reached out again, she had managed to block him with her free arm, even slightly turning away from him. whatever judgements she made on people, lucy still had been taught all about predators. her parents had been protective and taken every precaution. but still, she now found herself stuck between a rock and a hard place. for this man had already made her feel uncomfortable once and tried to do so again--but she would feel absolutely horrible if she left him in the rain. so she stayed, now only to keep him out of the rain and so that she wouldn't feel horrible later on. though, she wasn't sure if it was worth it if this stranger, whoever he was, kept this up. "y-yeah," lucy answered, her voice a little strained and almost came out as a squeak.
the little caterpie tensed, ready to shoot red with another stream of sticky string, but lucy had managed to avoid the bad man's grubby hands. otherwise, he would have been saying hello to another face-full of of her string shot. but she had also seen the strange pokemon forcefully shake his head at her, warning her not to do so again. but didn't that pokemon belong to the man, like she belonged to lucy? why would he be so against his trainer? unless ... suddenly, frieda was rather afraid, mostly for lucy. what was this man going to do? what was this man capable of? with a little squeak, she shifted so that she was nuzzling into lucy's neck. she wouldn't let this man hurt her.

[style=font-size: 10px; font-family: Arial; color: #656565; padding: 10px; text-align: justify; border-right: 4px solid #dcdcdc; text-transform: none;] There was an odd silence, for once Red felt bad. She wasn't hating him, nor did she slap him. She was actually withstanding him. It was a feat Red hadn't seen very often. His heart was beginning to melt, and it wasn't good. Red hated this feeling, and being wet didn't help it either. Even when he had irked her, she still came back to shield him from the rain. That was something Red could understand, she was genuinely nice. How could he hate on a girl like that? Plus he basically got to like what? Fifth base or something? He didn't know.
Red was still stuck in thinking, and Raito was still on her shoulder. Though all of a sudden he slipped off, touching down on the ground underneath them. Taking a moment to look up at the both of them, he slowly made his way back up Red's back, and unto his shoulder. For a moment, he stared at the girl. Her aura had changed so many times within the passing minutes, that he felt bad for her. For a moment, he tapped Red's shoulder, and glared at him for a moment.
Red felt the tug of Raito climing up him, then finally he sat on his shoulder. He didn't feel the same, and why did he insist on coming back now? There was silence between everyone, as Raito seemed to prod for Red's attention, he obliged at turned toward him, just to meet with a menacing glare. Red got the picture immediately and looked away for a moment. Raito was right, he didn't always need to act like a dick to everyone, it was just that...
"I get it, Raito." he said, as he looked at Lucy, this time getting slightly close to her, but not enough to creep her out yet. "Hey, I'm sorry. I just didn't know if you were a boy or a girl... I was always taught that... Breasts, they don't lie." he looked over his thoughts once more, then re-evaluated them. "Well, actually." flashbacks of times when he had grabbed a very large mans breasts to see his gender taunted his mind. He wasn't ready to accept what he was taught as a lie, so he blocked them out... yet again. | [atrb=style,margin-top:-5px;,bTable] there was a heavy tension in the air. lucy bit the point of her upper lip, eyes cast down. but then the strange pokemon suddenly started to slip off her shoulder and landed lightly on the ground. lucy was disappointed for just a moment, as the pokemon's weight had just started to get comfortable on her shoulders, but decided instead to feel a little honored. after all, she had only met the pokemon for less than a minute when it had decided to climb onto her shoulders. but frieda, however, was rather pleased that the stranger had finally left. lucy was hers, she thought, in a moment of rare selfishness. but then she felt rather sheepish for thinking so and buried her face into lucy's neck, shrouded by her long hair.
for once in her life, lucy had nothing to say. normally, she would be completely fine with talking to strangers about anything under the sun. and yet, she found that she couldn't think of a word to say. so instead, she stood and watched the little blue and black pokemon clamor back onto its trainer's shoulder. but by then she dropped her gaze again. no need to try and make eye contact with the man. she would just wait out for the rain to end so that she could leave him with a clear conscience. feeling the guilt really wasn't worth it, she thought.
but then he took a step closer, and lucy matched him by taking a half a step back. only half a step, as she didn't want to move too far and leave him under the rain--again. though she was still wary, she listened to him try to explain, and though it did sound like the strangest thing to teach a child, she supposed she understood. not everyone got to have the brights as parents, so she should never question other people's upbringing. that was something her own parents had taught her and told her constantly.
"oh, i see," she said, though really, she didn't see at all. then the silence took over again, but only for a moment, as lucy then stuck out her free hand, offering a handshake. "well, why don't we start over? my name's lucy," she said, "and this is frieda." she tucked her hair behind her ear to show the little caterpie on her shoulder, who was looking wide-eyed up at the man.

[style=font-size: 10px; font-family: Arial; color: #656565; padding: 10px; text-align: justify; border-right: 4px solid #dcdcdc; text-transform: none;] Looking her over, he slowly took that half step back toward her, this time meeting her most of the way. "I am, Red." his hand grasped hers a bit firmly, shaking it before letting it go briefly. For some reason he felt calmed, it was as if this girl gave off a certain presence. It didn't matter much what she thought of him now, for some reason he didn't feel like pissing her off. There wasn't much to do at this point, but he knew how he could help her. From earlier, she looked a bit lost, and trying to traverse through the tall grass, well Red was perfect for that.
"You know, I can go through the grass first, and you just follow with your umbrella." he skipped all the formalities and got straight to the point. So what? He liked to help out sometimes, he wasn't always an ass from the get-go. He could be kind to people at times. Especially to women, since he did feel attracted to them. Now there was a difference, this girl got under his skin somehow. Her attitude just made him feel as if what he did was generally wrong.
Red was still thinking this over, was it because she didn't hit him? The others hit him for stuff like that, she was still kind enough to not hit him, but yet even still... Keep him under her umbrella. Yes, she did move away, and the rain did hit him for a bit... But now, she seemed to just want to help him. Maybe her attitude was brushing off on him? Who's to say that is a bad thing? | [atrb=style,margin-top:-5px;,bTable] when the man moved closer, lucy could feel frieda's little body tense up, possibly readying another string shot attack, but all he did was take her hand and the pokemon relaxed. the handshake was firm and solid, and lucy's half smile grew to something a little more genuine. though brief, the handshake had been strong and lucy believed that there was nothing that said more about a person than their handshake. despite whatever had happened, his handshake was strong and trustworthy. she could trust him and he was a good person, at least deep inside. perhaps really deep inside.
and lucy didn't have to wait long for him to prove it. when he offered to help her cross through the tall grass, her eyes grew wide and she let out a small gasp. "really?" she asked "would you do that for me?" honestly, to know that her problem had been solved that easily made her heart perhaps skip a beat. relief washed over her knowing that red was that willing to help her. honestly, she hadn't even thought of going and asking someone to help, mostly because she was afraid of wasting their time and having them aid her when they would rather be doing something worth their while--like training or battling.
"that would actually be the best thing ever if you did. i've ... well, i've been kind of stuck because of the umbrella and i wasn't sure if i could make it through the tall grass and hold the umbrella at the same time, but i certainly wasn't going to go up that"--she paused to point at the thin railing--"with or without the umbrella. but honestly, you're like my saviour or something now; thank you so much," lucy gushed, taking quite the roundabout route to saying a simple thank you. now excited to be able to get through the route even with the umbrella in hand, she happily stood aside so that red could start leading the way.
