Jacen, above all else, was rather annoyed. He looked around at this empty land, knowing full and damn well that the boat didn't drop him off at Castelia as scheduled. The idiot with the boat put him somewhere else. He doubted that he was even in Unova. Accursed sailors and their apparent lack of intelligence...
He looked down at his Pokeball. Charmander was a Fire Type.
How the hell was he going to get off of this Route?!
He walked up the staircase to the top of a hill and looked out. Whirlpools, rapids, and large bodies of water blocked his way to the mainland. He cursed the sea for being so lethal to fire. He kicked a rock, which rolled and fell down a cliff, smacking the water, which due to some strange twist of circumstance, caused the cliff to give way, sending Jacen plummeting ten feet into water.
Moments later, he managed to paddle himself to an island after being tossed about by the currents for a bit. He checked the Pokeball and was relieved that it wasn't full of water. He holstered the Pokeball and stood. With that little fluke, he managed to make it halfway through. But he was now stuck with water on both sides, on a small island with a small patch of grass and a single tree. "Just like the damn movies..." he remembered how easy it seemed. Two kids walking along railroad tracks. That was simple. This was hell. He sat on the ground, waiting for death, or rescue. To make matters worse, the tree leaned to the left. This just made him that much more angrier.

Teddiursa groaned, and tugged on the tail ends of Sarah’s jacket, but all she received in response was a simple pat on the head, a quick acknowledgement while her partner focused on the sounds in her amplifier. It took her a while to get used to Sarah’s spontaneous trek’s into nowhere, following what could be the voice, but eventually, she just accepted it as part of her partner’s unique personality. Still. Teddy peered over the side of the small motor boat the two of them managed to buy off a local sailor and felt a little more nervous than perusal. The ocean waves whipped by them fast, and Teddy scooted herself closer to Sarah, tiny claws tugging for purchase. She could only hope the two of them didn’t get stranded out here.
Sarah was on to something. She knew it! She was close, and was zooming in on the odd sound she heard earlier. Eyes glued to the horizon, one hand on the tuning dial on her amplified earphones, the other gripping the wheel, she glowed with optimistic hope. An island sat in her path, a single tree swaying tall and strong against the winds. Would that be where the voice is? Only one way to find out!
The motor boat carrying both Sarah and Teddiursa circled the island once before finding a suitable place to make anchor. Teddy climbed up onto Sarah’s shoulders to prevent herself from getting wet while the two of them waded out into the shore line and onto land. Sarah turned the dial on her headphones and frowned. What filled her ears sounded suspiciously like footsteps. She took a few of her own inland, listening.
A voice definitely greeted her, but it was deafening and certainly not Nature’s. She screeched from the high shirt proximity of the voice, and threw her headphones off her ears where they fell to dangle around her neck. Teddy squealed in surprise herself, and rolled into the pack that hung at Sarah’s shoulders.
”Ugh, my ears,” she winced and rubbed the pink out of the shell of ears. ”Hello? Is someone here?” Teddy peeked out back over Sarah’s shoulders and made a small sound in question of her own.

He sat miserably, looking out to the sea, until he heard someone call. Then he heard them call again. "Sweet salvation.." he turned and looked out towards the waters to his right.
Jacen stood, looking over towards this now magical boat. "Sweet mother of.. Here! Over here!" he jumped up and down, waving his hands. "I have no water Pokemon and am stranded! Please! I'll paint your boat! I'll cook dinner! Just please get me away from this TREE!!" he said, pointing behind him.
He waited patiently, then at the first chance, waved when he saw the driver. "Hey!" he jumped up and down.
He was glad she showed up. He was rather desperate to get off of the Island, and needed a way to the shore. "Do you know where I am?" he called, putting on his jacket {OOC: see avatar}, and waiting for her to arrive.
He figured he would be close to Nuvema, if his memory of the map was good enough. He yawned a bit, realizing he was awake the whole boat trip, and would need a place to crash as well. Stepping up to the edge of the water, he crossed his arms and patiently waited, then, at the first moment he was invited, would get onto the boat.

So, yes, there was most obviously someone on this tiny one tree island. And boy, was he happy to see her. Sarah stared at him in mild disbelief, and a whole lot of disappointment. The sound she heard before was just another mistake and wild goose chase. The Voice wasn’t here, just a stranded boy.
She frowned, and turned her gaze about wondering how in the blazes he got stuck way out in the middle of the ocean. Well, she couldn’t leave him there, so turned around to tug her borrowed motor boat a little further up onto the shore. Once she was sure it wasn’t going anywhere with the tide, she turned to the boy, Teddy climbing back up to sit comfortably at her shoulder.
”How did you get way out here with no water pokemon or a boat?” All that black the kid was wearing was sure to dehydrate him quickly. Perhaps it was luck she came upon this island, even though it still sat sour with disappointment in her gut. She waved him over. ”I can give you a ride back… Um…” Her boat was only meant to seat one. How was he going to fit?
Well, there was only one bench in the middle, and he certainly couldn’t sit on the floor. Teddy tapped her cheek in an affectionate gesture for courage, and Sarah swallowed. ”Its going to be a little snug,” she climbed back into the motor boat and felt her cheeks heat up. ”I hope that’s okay. Er,” she shuffled shyly, one hand settling on the steering rod. ”Come on, get in.” Before I change my mind~ she flailed mentally.

He nodded, and got in slowly, as not to make her too awfully uncomfortable. "Thanks.." he said quietly, looking out towards the sea. His Charmander popped out for a second, and sniffed the Tediursa. "Woah. Charmander, get back in!." he said, calling Charmander back. He looked at the Pokeball. "I know you're eager to get out... but I can't afford to let you get wet, pal.." he holstered the Pokeball and sighed a little. "Sorry.. he's a little wired since we got here." he looked ahead, his cheeks a little warm. She was indeed a girl. He as indeed a guy. And honestly, he was at the point where being close to any girl made him nervous, jittery, GAH.. he hated this, but loved it.
He sat quietly, not saying an awful lot on their way to shore. Then he was curious of the headphones. "What're those for, miss?" he asked. "Looking for something?" he waited for an answer, not because he was really curious, but because he was seriously thinking they could be decent friends. Besides, what harm could it be to get to know the first girl he spoke to in the region? If he was more open, she may be. Maybe. Who knows.
He looked ahead and noticed a large shadow take flight. He wanted to stand up, but couldn't believe his eyes. It wasn't Wailord size, by any means, but WOW. Then he realized it was a cloud. An uneven one at that. Yech... he looked back at her and then to Tediursa. He reached back to shake it's paw. "Hi! Nice to meet you." he said quietly.

Releasing some of the tension in her through an exhale, she made a once over to make sure all passengers and pokemon were safely within the motor boat, and then shoved off shore. Alright. No big deal. She just happened upon a poor guy that was oddly trapped on a small island in the middle of the ocean. The whole situation was weird enough to add on top of her natural shyness around strangers. Why was he just sitting out on an island all by himself?
Her silent questioning was suddenly thrown off trek when something orange and very warm invaded her space. She gave a squeak, as did Teddiursa, who was taking the brunt of the invaded space. The little bear at her shoulder gave an annoyed growl, and scurried to Sarah’s opposite shoulder to get out from under Charmander’s curious nose. The motor boat rocked a little from her surprise jump, and the boy’s scramble to pull his pokemon back into his pokeball.
Jeez, she hated it when pokemon popped out like that. What was the point in the pokeball if the thing won’t stay in it?
Sarah exhaled again, shaking the surprise off. Teddiursa slipped down from her shoulder and fell with a light thump into Sarah’s lap, rubbing at her button nose. Then a small bout of silence fell into the boat as it sped along toward the main land. The time of silence was short, broken only by her passenger’s sudden curious question over the pair of headphones dangling around her neck.
Startled, Sarah glanced at him, a flush of pink tinting the skin at her cheeks. ”Oh, u-um…” She was both flattered he was curious enough to ask, and a little terrified all the same. She couldn’t answer him truthfully, because she knew he’d laugh. ”Yeah, looking for something. Something that was lost, and needs to be found,” she shook her head, feeling her stomach flip with unease. ”It’s silly. You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.” Swallowing, Sarah forced her eyes ahead to avoid whatever stare he decided to give her. Great, now I sound like a crazy person.
Teddiursa glanced up from Sarah’s lap, sensing her partner’s unease, and shook her head, sighing. Round ears turned forward as she studied the boy carefully, her dark eyes watching him take in the sky. Then to her surprise, and Sarah’s, he turned, and offered to shake her paw in a greeting. Teddiursa blinked, wrinkled her nose as she took in his sense, then touched her paw to his hand. She gave a grunt as if to respond.
Sarah hesitated a moment, watching the boy interact with Teddiursa. ”This is Teddy,” she patted the little bear on the head, translating the earlier grunt. ”And, um, I-I’m Sarah.” Her gaze dropped, a shy smile spreading on her lips. ”We’re both p-pleased to meet you too.”
