It had only been a day since his encounters in the Mistralton Cave but still he persisted to pursue his adventurous thrills despite the possible dangers. He was nearly cornered by two wild pokemon, and if it wasn't for his ability to learn on the fly, he could have been seriously injured or worse. After all it was his first pokemon battle, at least with a pair of wild pokemon, though the abscence of a trainer behind them made it seem more threatening. There were no regulations, and somehow, he felt that a wild battle was a much better way to kick off his career as a trainer than an actual sanctioned match.
Although that was his philosophy for starters sake, that did not stop him from strutting into Nimbasa city and posting that flyer. He had gone into the heart of the busiest entertainment city and issued an open challenge to the first trainer to meet him in the northern most open grass field of the city. This action was not to suggest that his success against near defeat in Driftveil City had made him arrogant, but rather that he wanted to test his limits even further. Battling in the wild was one thing, but did he have what it takes to survive against another trainer? As fearful as he was to discover this answer, he had to know, he just had to!
His spine had become painfully unhappy with his choice of seating as he sat perched upon a small cluster of rocks about three feet high. It was only a half hour past noon and it seemed like he had been waiting an eternity for someone to show. "Surely someone has taken notice of my flyer by now." He thought as he adjusted his black vest whilst the sun accentuated his light red short sleeved t-shirt. He had begun to regret wearing black pants and shoes as it soon became hotter than the weather forecast had professed. Hopefully a trainer would show up soon and take his mind off of this dreadful heat.

Nix walked through the town and laughed to herself at the stares she was getting and the hushed voices and pointing fingers, shadow was sitting on her shoulder with her tail hanging down over nixs back and them it's tip was resting on her other shoulder but she wasn't the one earning nix all the looks and comments. Behind the two girls was a deerling and sitting on its back was a oshawott and while this was a bit odd it still wasn't the actual happening, the thing that people were finding odd was nixs forth and final pokemon and where he had sat. Directly on top of her deerlings head.
Nix smiled at her team as they walked a little out of town when phantom gave a mew from his high seat and nix turned her head to look at him, he had a hand pointed out at a flyer stuck on a rather small and shabby building, this nix thought had been a good idea as that way people would notice the building the therefore the flyer more too.
The flyer was actually a fair way off nix could see two words that made her smile, challenge battle. "tommy find us directions" she said and phantom nodding his head and focused on the flyer for a moment before nodding his head again and putting his hands on tains ears and tugging, the deerling gave a mutter of anger but walked where phantom asked and nix fell in to step behind the trio as phantom lead the way out of town and northwards over the grassy fields that lay that way out Of town

His back had finally had enough, the wincing instances of sharp pain almost catapulting him up off of the rocky cluster. After landing on his feet in a heel to butt fashion from the slight altitude he immediately began cracking his back. He was only fourteen, far too young to be worried with senior problems such as lower back issues. He needed to invest in the practice of better posture for the sake of proper aesthetic as well as physical health. "Oh man, how long has it been!?" He inquired with an inner monologue of alarm, realizing he was entertaining himself with something as boring as posture.
The time must have really slipped away if such a dull topic was allowed to keep his attention. As he raised his head, squinting his blue eyes off into the distance he noticed a cluster of oddly shaped outlines. As the figures in question came into view he was able to distinguish much more detail. "Are those, pokemon?" Not that it would be so farfetched to see some wild pokemon, but something about this trio seemed uniform. It was a Deerling with an Oshawatt on its back and a Ralts on its head, a very uncommon sight to say the least. But before he could finish wrapping his head around the odd phenomenon he noticed a girl bringing up the rear. She seemed to be a little bit older than himself, dressed in an all black sailor outfit with long fire red hair.
Oh, and an Eevee perched upon her shoulder? Suddenly the grand picture came into view, it was obvious now that she was probably a trainer and all of those pokemon belonged to her. At least that's the only explanation he could find that made sense. "She has all of her pokemon outside of their pokeball's?" It was rare for him to see trainers with a free spirited pokemon that preferred the real world over their spherical domain, but seeing four exhibiting that type of behavior was exceptional. "Erm, hi. My name is Alan, and please tell me you are here because you saw my flyer in town." He said in a casual tone that hinted with desperation as the group had finished closing the distance. But even if this girl hadn't noticed his flyer, she still seemed readily equipped for a pokemon battle to say the least.

Nix heard phantom give a cry of greeting and she lifted her head up to look at him and then smiled. A moment later she lowered a hand to dust of a little mud and dust from her dark grey but baggy t-shirt, her black combats had mud on the knees and dust all up the legs but seeing as shadow was sitting on her sholder ,nix knew that bending over to dust those off as well would send her partner falling forwards in to the ground with a loud complaint. Nix sniggered a little at the idea of shadow falling on to the ground and then complaining for the while of the on coming battle as a voice blew back to her on the wind and tain gave a mew of slight annoyance ,"well it's a guy then" nix said and she and shadow giggled together as Tain came to a stop a little away from a young looking boy.
"well if you want to know the truth phantom, the Ralts who is sitting on his team mates head, spotted the flyer and as soon as we all saw the words battle and challenge together we thought we could give it a go and see how it went" nix said as she and shadow caught up with the boys. Nix looked over at the boys and noticed jark standing up on tains back trying to look at the boy while phantom was looking around to spot what pokemon the boy had and if he could get down and say hello to them
*sorry, I'm a little museless today for some reason*

"Oh, is that so." He replied as he bent down heel to butt, now looking at the Ralts at eye level. They were face to face and he could not help but frolic in front of it as it was as cute as a little toddler. He also gave a bit of this attention to the Deerling and Oshawatt who looked over at him curiously but his main focus was on the one the girl called Phantom. He was really appreciative that he saw his flyer, goodness knows if it wasn't for this Ralts he would have been waiting up here forever. "Well good, I'm glad you all could make it. It was getting super boring, but now I'm sure we'll have some fun."
He added as he finished petting the Oshawatt behind its ears, now slowly raising back upon his feet in an upright position. Taking a few steps back, he figured he would clear some space for them to get down to business. As nice as it would be to visit with the group, they had come for one reason, to battle. The last thing he wanted to do was hold up their time, the least he could do was respectfully cut to the chase as they did go out of their way to meet his blind request. "I suppose we should get started with the battle then, though I did not catch your name. I will let you go first if you would be so kind as to tell me." He said with a curious gaze, waiting to hear her response.

Nix saw the boy scratch at jarks ears and she saw the baby freeze up and she saw tain stiffen at his riders dis comfort so nix was rather happy when the boy stepped away from her team to line up for the battle and then she winced as he asked about her name before sighing slightly but quietly.
"my name is nix, nix night. If you don't know my second name well then don't ask about it, if you have heard of us then dont mention it, and if you know lots about the nights then open your mouth and I'll personally shut it" she said, her voice growing harsher and angrier as she spoke of her family. It was clear nix and her family didn't her on but nix was not going to talk of a childhood alone and cold when there were other things to think of and more so, when she didn't ever know the other person she was battling.
"will you be battling one on one or a two and two? I'm ok with both myself but I find two and two's easier to work with seeing as my oshawott is a bit too weak to fight alone and it doesn't help hes also scared to hurt other pokemon in fear of being hurt worse. I would prefer a two and two with Tain and shadow from my team but I haven't seen yours yet so...." nix said with a small smile as shadow flicked her tail around on nixs shoulder

After backing away, he could have sworn he felt an uneasiness, a tension he had a hard time explaining. He hadn't done anything wrong as far as he could tell so he was confused by the thickness in the air. "Oh..., ok." To add even more discomfort to the situation, the older girl was now chewing him out about her last name. She had made it more than apparent that it was something she did not want to talk about, but if it was so sensitive, why not just give him her first name? I mean he did not give her his last name, so he was thrown as to why she found it mandatory to do so. Taking a deep breath he shrugged off the icy verbalized assault and made it a point to try and lighten the situation.
"Nix, thats a cool name." He added with an air of awkwardness, uncertain if she was going to snap about her first name as well. At any rate, Nix seemed to be ready to get things started as she quickly changed the subject. "Hmm, a two versus two sounds fine." He replied in acceptance as he placed his right hand along his belt holster, un-clipping two of the three pokeballs that were fixated to it. "If your using your Eevee and Deerling I will go ahead and use my Drifloon and Mantyke." He continued as he lurched his arm forward, displaying the two pokeballs that were occupying the spacing in his right palm. "Since you were nice enough to tell me your name, I will hold true and let you go first if you'd like. You may choose which of my pokemon you want to battle first.
[OOC:] Was thinking we do Eevee vs Mantyke since their both level three then Drifloon vs. Deerling. Sound good?

*I'm good with that pairing * Nix smiled as the boy seemed to shrug of her minor snap at her family and so she shook her head ,they ruined her life as a child but now she was away from them and so there was no need to let them get to her now. "I'm good with that, but you need to watch out, my team get very competitive very fast" she said with a smile. Nix nodded to tain and then she waved her hands to the other boys and waited for them to get off their team mate. Jark was the first to move, he turned sideways on tains back and then let himself fall forwards before dropping on to the ground and wobbling a bit until he found his balance before running over to nixs side. Phantom was next, he turned round on tains head before sliding down his neck and then laughing as he slid off the deerlings shoulder and bumping on to the ground and then he ran over and stood beside jark. Nix bent down and took shadow down from her sholder and put her on the ground and shadow mewed before turning towards Tain and both nodded before stepped forwards and lining up across from the boy. "Tain I want you to start with energy ball and shadow you use shadow ball, but not until I say" nix said softly as shadow walked over to tains side and sprang up on to his back and flicked her tail impatiently Name - Tain Level - 7 - *as of 11/8/11* Gender - male Item - none Ability - Chlorophyll Moves - Growl|Tackle|Camouflage|-empty-|Energy Ball|Return|

A stiff burning sensation slowly began to envelope his right arm as he kept it outstretched. He had noticed a change in Nix now, she seemed to be a bit relieved that he did not retaliate towards her harsh words. All the while though, he wondered which of his two pokemon she would choose to battle. Judging from the lot of pokemon she had with her, it was safe to say she could concoct a number of possible matches for either of his two presented pokemon. "I'm glad to hear that, because my team doesn't back down from a challenge." He replied with a faint smirk, ignoring the growing strain in his arm on the whim that Nix was going to soon choose which one she wanted to battle first. As he stood there, almost in still motion, he watched as she nodded to her Deerling and let down her Eevee that was previously perched upon her shoulder. An air of confusion began surrounding him as he watched her prep both of them for battle simultaneously and even give them premature orders before the start of the match. "I apologize if I wasn't clear. By two vs. two I did not mean a doubles match, but rather two rounds of one on one with both our pokemon." He said as he dropped his throbbing arm, placing one of the two pokeballs in his right hand back along the side of his brown leather belt holster. "I'll be using Mantyke first!" He exclaimed in excitement as he threw his pokeball in a spinning arch. Upon contact with the grassy terrain, the red and white sphere burst open, expelling a white brilliance that quickly took the form of his kite shaped pokemon. The young trainer then gave a nod to Nix, indicating that she could still make the first move once she chose the pokemon she wanted to battle his Mantyke. Nix felt her neck go warm at then she lifted her hand up and rubbed it against her neck to try and cool herself down for a moment and she nodded her head, "sorry, when I say two and two I normally mean a double, shadow come back here girlie" she said and then she saw shadow turn round. The little eevee dropped her head and lowered her ears and her tail and nix felt her eyes soften ,"you can battle afterwards shadow, Tain is going first because he is the eldest ,you can sit up here and go second" she said and tapped her shoulder and shadow rolled her eyes.
The little eevee walked over to her side and then lifted a paw up and nix smiled and her and bent down and scooped her up in both hands and lifted her up to her shoulder, and shadow climbed up on to her shoulder before letting her tail drop down and then flick up over to her other shoulder as tain moved over to stand in front of nix and wagging his tail a bit.
"we'll go first then" nix said with a smile and then she looked up at the sky and saw the sun shining down and she grinned. "Tain start with tackle and make sure to stay in the sun, then get behind or under and wait" she said with a small side ways smile and tain nodded his green head and then pressed his hooves in to the ground and pushed off hard and shot forwards and dropped his head low as he ran and nix smiled. His coat began to blur and she couldn't see his legs anymore than a yellow blur as he ran forwards and nix grinned ,"gotta love that ability" she said in a low voice to herself more than actually to tain or any of the others on her team

He had to admit he was a little taken back when he saw Nix call back her Eevee. Though she was free to choose which pokemon she wanted to battle with, a part of him was almost certain it would not be her Deerling. But as with some things, he found himself incorrect, and this time didn't seem to be an exception. Since both Nix's Deerling and Eevee were four legged pokemon it was safe to assume they were pretty fast, so it didn't serve as too much of a difference, at least from that stand point. "Get ready Mantyke..." He whispered to his kite shaped pokemon, the female member of his team nodding in agreement. His heart dropped and his stomach filled with a case of the butterflies as he heard Nix shout her orders, the battle had begun. He was uncertain everything her Deerling was capable of so he would have to be ready for just about anything. Though if his memory served him right, Deerling were capable naturally of normal and grass type attacks. "Mantyke, maneuver through the air and change your angle from the direction of the sun!" Though Nix's Deerling was much faster than Mantyke, it still had the advantage of flight, giving it the ability to maneuver on a much larger scale of planes. As Mantyke adjusted itself out of the path of the sun, it furrowed its brow as it gained a clear visual of its charging opponent. "Mantyke, swoop down and counter with tackle to Deerling's underside!" Since his Mantyke was airborne the Deerling would have to jump in order to execute its tackle, and during its leap off of the ground, Mantyke would swivel underneath it and attempt to perform tackle right into the Deerling's gut. "After that, execute shortcuts through the air to keep Deerling in front of you!" Since Deerling clearly had the speed advantage on the ground, he would have to take full advantage of his Mantyke's aerial status. By taking sharp shortcuts through the air, Mantyke would be able to compromise Deerlings path trajecotry(s) to get behind or underneath her. Nix narrowed her eyes as the mantyke shifted in the air and she found herself wishing she had an electric type to just buzz the thing hard enough to drop it to the floor when it hit her. Tain finally knew a grass type move after his new TM.
The little thing came up aiming for tains under side and nix nodded her head ,"fine, we'll work in directly then" she said as a dark muttered under her breath and then she gave a low whistle. Because of some odd and what struck nix as stupid logic, Tain had followed through in his move and jumped up in the air which nix found herself thinking was stupid because he was leaving himself open for attack and going to miss anyway.
By they were up against a flying type or a airborne pokemon at least and that meant this stupidity would keep happening and nix was not going to keep watching this, as tain was hit from the side nix growled and held up a hand. "Stop, stop now" she said in a tight voice that sue was using to hide her anger as Tain hit the ground and stumbled before standing up straight ,"judging on the way your pokemon attacks and the way that mine can't hit like that I'm calling this off, I don't see it as being fair if my pokemon can't attack properly" she said in the same gift voice

Hey loves, just a quick note over here.
It looks to me as though there's a bit of powerplay going on, namely;
Uhh, auto-hitting is a no-no, as explained in the rules. Please change accordingly, yes? You may attempt to hit with the Energy Ball, but it would still be left to Custer if his Mantyke was able to dodge or not. Additionally, you can't dodge every single attack.

"Great Job Mantyke!" He exclaimed in successful excitement as he witnessed the sting ray pokemon execute his commands flawlessly. At this rate he felt that he and his team could put up a great fight as long as they stayed consistent. This was the first time he and Mantyke had been in battle together, unless you count the battle when he captured her. As the Deerling hit the ground and staggered back to it's hooves, the young trainers attention was caught by Nix's tightly toned cries for stoppage. "So your seriously just going to quit mid battle?" He replied in disbelief, watching the red headed girl loose her morale in the face of one unsuccessful round of attack. Her excuse for quitting was a poor one on top of this, pokemon trainers were supposed to build their teams to be ready for any type of adversity. This was not to say Nix did not have the versatility within her pokemon team to compensate for the simple advantage of flight. Surely she had a pokemon or two within that group capable of at least one reusable ranged attack? There was no reason for her to quit when she could swap out her Deerling for another pokemon of hers that was more suited to the task. All he could do is shake his and shrug his shoulders, it was a shame to see another trainer throw in the towel without at least exercising all of their options. "Well, if your giving up, I will just leave you be then." He added with a disappointing sigh as he recalled his Mantyke, drawing in it's essence back within its pokeball through a stream of red light. Taking a deep breath, he clipped the stingray pokemon back to his belt holster before looking back up at Nix. "Thank you for your time anyway, I suppose. I don't know why, but I believe you are a better trainer than this. Hopefully you will find your resolve one day, as I would like to battle you again in the future." He added before turning around and pacing off in the opposite direction. "Til then!" He said in a tone of farewell as he threw up the back of his right hand, symbolizing a good-bye gesture.
