A slight summer breeze had drifted through the trees of a quite route, reaching a pink haired girl. She wore a thigh high black dress which gently blew with the wind. Her eyes were focused at the ground where her feet paced the dirt path. Treading behind her was a small pink Pokemon who gazed up at her trainer in amazement. The way she walked with such confidence and took no notice of everything, it caused the Pokemon to wonder what it was like to be a human. With each step the Pokemon took it chanted it's name. "Happiny, hap-hap!" it cried, before the girl stopped without breaking eye contact with the ground. Slowly she turned around and stared at the Happiny, pulling her hand to her mouth and biting a recently filed nail. She inspected the Pokemon that had been following her for the past five minutes and finally spoke. "Look, I know mummy gave you to me and everything, and sure you're pink and kinda cute, but do you mind? Like, seriously, stop shouting your name..." her voice lacked emotion, leaving the Happiny giving her an apologetic stare. For a second it looked as if the Pokemon was about to say something, but decided not to as it didn't want to annoy its trainer further. "Anyway," the girl carried on, "My name's Elizabeth, and I'm guessing you're... Happiny," she spoke the Pokemon's name with disgust, and gave a look to match. Happiny stared back at the girl, waiting for her to carry on. "How do you feel about the name, Lulu?" It was more of a statement then a question, but Elizabeth gave a obviously fake smile as the newly named Pokemon nodded in joy. She opened her arms up and allowed Lulu to leap into them, where she continued to walk with her arms wrapped around her Pokemon, as the Happiny mimicked with her rock.
This walk had began to bore Elizabeth as something exciting was yet to happen. Her eye contact shifted from straight ahead to either side of her so she could inspect the overgrown trees. Every time there was movement detected she would stand silent and still, waiting for something to happen. Yet, to Elizabeth's displeasure, it was simply the wind that blew against the branches and shrubs. Lulu began swayed her head as they carried on walking, not taking note of the sudden stops and noises. The pink haired girl had decided to sit down at a small bench that lay on the side of the dirt path, but not before placing two small blankets on it first. "Hap, happiny!" Lulu cried out in joy as she jumped from Elizabeth's grip and curled into the now cushioned bench. Her trainer gave a little smirk and sat next to the Pokemon, attempted to pull out something from her bag again. Lulu stared in excitement, seeing what would now be generated from the magic bag. Elizabeth's grip loosened as she took hold of a couple rice cakes, handing one to her Pokemon without speaking, she took a delicate bite of hers. Well, I guess there's no turning back now... Elizabeth thought, finally taking the last bite of her snack, Now what?

Rufflet | Normal/Flying-Type | Level 6 | Male | Hustle Peck | Leer | Fury Attack A Rufflet fluttered down and landed just in front of the bench, head tilted to the side. He had seen the food and his look seemed to be asking for some. "Ruff!" the flying-type chirped, curious to see if this human would indeed share with him. Those riceballs looked tasty, maybe she had more in that bag? At least he was hopeful for something like that. Or maybe the Happiny was the sharing type? Simply hungry, this wild pokemon did not appear to be hostile. The trainer could react to him however she chooses. Wild Rufflet appeared!

Elizabeth's eyes reluctantly closed as she slanted down on the bench. Lulu was still snacking on her rice cake, taking nibbles from each side to make sure it was even. The heat of the summer's day had increased and Elizabeth could feel a burning on her open legs. It caused a small discomfort and she knew staying like this for too long will no doubt end in her burning. She exhaled and pulled herself back up to a less comfortable posture, eyes still shut. Yet, as a sudden rustle and slight wind blew her hair across her face, she widened her gaze, and moved the pink locks from her eyes. In front of them was a bird like Pokemon, eagerly staring at her, well more the rice cake she had yet to begin. Lulu the Happiny took no notice and carried on sculpting her food, trying not to fall off the bench when she waddled either side of it. Elizabeth looked from her snack to the wild Pokemon a couple times before finally speaking. "You want some? Knock yourself out, I'm full"
[/b] she lied, but temptation to eat was a sin in Elizabeth's eyes. Snapping the rice cake into two, she gently flicked it onto the floor, her gaze not leaving the bird Pokemon. "Hap?" Lulu spoke in curiosity, finally noticing the 'intruder' after her trainer had thrown something. She tried to give an intimidating look and went back to eating her food. Elizabeth noticed this and turned to the Happiny "Look Lulu, this... erm..." she hesitated to think what kind of species was actually stood in front of her and the rice cake "Pokemon," she concluded "Is hungry, and I have spare food... Plus he's a little cutie isn't he? Aww!" Elizabeth gave a little grin and watched the bird Pokemon to see what he'd do now she had offered some food to him. [/size][/justify][/blockquote]

Rufflet | Normal/Flying-Type | Level 6 | Male | Hustle Peck | Leer | Fury Attack She was giving him food! The Rufflet chirped happily as she broke the riceball in two and tossed him half. Without hesitation he began to peck at it, picking off small chunks with his beak. It tasted delicious to the little eagle, who was now thoroughly preoccupied with his meal. He took little notice to the Happiny or the trainer's complements. Attention on the riceball, he was paying no mind to anything else. What would Elizabeth do, attack or leave this pokemon be?

Elizabeth watched the small eagle Pokemon as it began to peck away at the recently thrown snack, her mind began to wonder if the Pokemon would make a good addition to her team... well what she called a team, seeing as it was only Lulu the Happiny. A flying type was sure to come in handy plus not only was the little fella cute, it looked pretty tough and persevering. Breaking Elizabeth's train of though, Lulu hopped onto her lap and watched the Rufflet with caution while trying to snuggle tightly into her trainer's chest.
After much thought Elizabeth decided she would attempt to capture the eagle Pokemon, for what was the harm in trying? She picked the Happiny up delicately and stood tall and proud, clearing her throat. "You... erm," again she remembered that the Pokemon species was unknown to her. Quickly she pulled the Pokédex she had obtained and flicked it up, allowing it to generate information on the creature. On the screen read the Pokemon's name, height, weight and other information Elizabeth regarded useless. "Rufflet, I challenge you to a Pokemon battle..." she stood still, wondering if that was how you should start a battle, to her it sounded pretty stupid. Lulu seemed to realize this meant she'd have to be ready to fight, and hopped from Elizabeth's grip to the ground, where she held her ground confidently.
"Happiny, Hap!" Cried Lulu keeping her gaze on the now declared enemy. She awaited orders from her trainer, going through different outcomes of this battle. Elizabeth gave a smirk, and called out "Start off with a pound attack!" while swishing a strand of pink hair out her face. Lulu nodded and began to charge toward the Rufflet, trying to balance her weight before leaping into the air, ready to come down on the bird with an amateur move.

Rufflet | Normal/Flying-Type | Level 6 | Male | Hustle Peck | Leer | Fury AttackThe Rufflet was caught off guard by the trainer's sudden declaration of battle. She wanted to fight him now? It seemed so, the Happiny was jumping down to the ground. Lulu began to charge, but the wild pokemon was faster. He lifted off the ground and flew above the little pink pokemon, PECKing her in the head. However, he hadn't expected his opponent to leap into the air, and was caught under the weight of Lulu. Lulu had felt a sharp pain against her head as she was midway through he attack, and again, and again. To her realization her opponent was quick and had started pecking her, yet this didn't stop the Happiny. She shook it off and carried on, impacting with the Rufflet as her pound attack had hit. She jumped backwards to leave distance between the two. Awaiting her next order impatiently, trying to resist the urge to attack independently.
Elizabeth had been too busy thinking of her next move to focus too much on the battle so far. Yet from the graze of Happiny's head she knew the eagle Pokemon has attacked. "Great..." Elizabeth smirked as she had hoped this would happen, "Copycat, now!" She cried out, not wanting to waste time and allow the enemy to attack. Lulu concentrated hard on the previous attack that the Rufflet has used. A faint glow surrounded her mouth as she charged once again at the Pokemon, a beck much smaller than the opponent's has been formed, yet looked very odd on the Happiny's face. She began to thrust her whole body forward in an attempt to mimic the peck attack that has just been used against her.
Not worrying if the attack has made contact with the Rufflet, Lulu backed away, hoping if the enemy retaliated that she'd dodge the attack. Yet her small stubby body wasn't much of a match with agility when it came to the eagle Pokemon. Elizabeth watched with panic... this was her very first Pokemon battle, and there was no way she would lose without putting up a good fight, and by the looks of things Lulu was going by the rule also. The more she watched the Rufflet move and battle the more she wanted it to join her, it would make a great addition.

Rufflet | Normal/Flying-Type | Level 6 | Male | Hustle Peck | Leer | Fury AttackRufflet watched as Lulu backed away and waited, then began to charge at him again. Was she trying the same tactic? He had heard the trainer say something about copycat, but he wasn't sure what that was. Preparing himself to dodge another pound attack, the wild pokemon wasn't expecting to be hit with his own attack. The copycat version of peck hit him straight on. He was quick to retaliate, pecking the Happiny furiously with a Fury Attack. Rufflet was hit by COPYCAT - PECK Rufflet used FURY ATTACK

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #DA8994;] elizabeth After realizing the attack had hit the enemy both Lulu and Elizabeth were filled with confidence that the fight was going good. Yet, it seemed the two had counted their eggs before they'd hatched. The Rufflet came back with a fury attack. The Happiny took these where she'd taken the peck attack, and it felt very similar yet multiple times and faster. The sharp pain caused Lulu to fall to the ground, scraping her back now. Elizabeth could tell her Pokemon was in pain, and for once she began to feel compassion for another living thing, yet quickly shook it off, as so did the Happiny, standing up and holding her ground once again. She tried to ignore the pain that the Rufflet has left on her head.
"Lulu, use charm, then go for another pound attack!" Elizabeth voice sounded slightly croaky as she shouted, worry filling her mind. What if her Pokemon did fail? What if she lost in her very first battle? She'd be a laughing stock, this can't happen! Her eyes narrowed and locked onto the Happiny, who had turned to face her Trainer. They both gave a sharp nod to one another, and Lulu turned back to the Eagle Pokemon, staying still and using her Charm attack. A sudden non-understandable occurrence happened. Lulu had become a lot more cuter than before, the way she looked, walked and just stood there. How could such a thing ever be dangerous.
Elizabeth soon knew that the Charm attack had been used, as her Pokemon began to charge at her opponent as she had done the first move of the battle. Leaping into the air again, ready to come down and impact against the Rufflet with her whole body. "Happiny!" she cried out, ready to take any attack the enemy used. s u m m a r y : happiny used pound & charm |

Rufflet | Normal/Flying-Type | Level 6 | Male | Hustle Peck | Leer | Fury Attack"Ruff!" Rufflet puffed up it's feathers proudly, seeing how Lulu was injured by his fury attack. He felt bad though, she was such a cute little pokemon. As he fell for the charm, he decided to start holding his attacks back some. He didn't want to hurt the Happiny too badly. Giving up wasn't an option though, and the determined little eaglet swooped over Lulu and began to peck at her again with another FURY ATTACK. His close proximity got him caught in her pound once again. Despite the power of the attack, he was still hanging in. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #DA8994;] elizabeth Elizabeth couldn't tell if it was because it was about midday, and the sun was at it's hottest, or if it was the heat of the battle that had made her sweat, nor did she care. The only thing she could now concentrate on was the battle taking place. Happiny was obviously weak, and in a lot more pain when compared to her enemy, Rufflet. It was suddenly occurring to her that she might perhaps lose... what would that do to her reputation, and even her confidence. "No..." she spoke quietly, seeing as it was meant to be thought. The pink haired girl watched as her Happiny was struck by the eagle's fury attack once again, wincing as if she was feeling the pain along with Lulu. It must be quite hard being a Pokemon, always getting hurt for the pleasure of your trainer, but then again, they could easily decline the orders if they wished... right? Elizabeth shock off these thought, getting her head back in the game and watching with anticipation "Come on, Lulu... You can do it," she chanted under her breath subconsciously.
The Happiny was obviously in pain being hit by the attack yet again, and almost struggled not to fall over. Yet, she was still able to cause some pain to her opponent as well, successfully pulling off another pound attack. She watched the Rufflet, and took note that it wasn't looking as strong as it had earlier, and this gave Lulu a bit more hope. Perhaps the match wasn't going to be over for her straight away. She turned to look at her Trainer, who gave an encouraging wink and shouted out to her Pokemon. "Good job! Hang in there a little longer and use Copycat again," Elizabeth's voice was a lot stronger and matched the confident posture she'd taken. Lulu turned back to her enemy and got ready.
A glow around the Happiny's mouth had yet again formed, generating another beak and she ran at the Rufflet. Her mind told her that if she got hit another time, it was not going to be good, she had to make the attack count. Lulu had to do this for her trainer... no, for her. She has to prove to herself that she could do it. She wasn't only going to be a pretty face. The distance between the two Pokemon shorted and the Happiny quickly slid to the right and tried to attack her enemy on the side. Hopefully the sudden change in maneuver would help to the Pokemon's advantage. s u m m a r y : happiny used pound & charm |

He knew she would charge straight at him, and he was sure he could dodge. Not counting on his to slide to his right side, the flying-type was once again caught off guard. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #DA8994;] elizabeth Excitement bubbled inside of Elizabeth, her eyes glued to the ground where the two Pokemon fought. Her mouth was preoccupied with biting her nails to allow her to chant for Lulu currently; instead simple mumbles were only heard. It wasn't until her Happiny's Copycat attack hit that she stopped her dirty habit and let out a gasp of joy. It seemed her Pokemon was able to back away from the enemy before being attacked like the previous times. Elizabeth gave a huge grin but that soon faded as she saw how worn out and tired Lulu was. She swallowed nothing just so she had something to do, while watching the pink Pokemon gasp for air, flinching at the pain all over.
Elizabeth straightened up as she had sloped down after seeing the negative side of the battle again. Trying not to let this ruin her confidence she looked back at the Rufflet who seemed to be glaring at the Happiny. It took a couple seconds till she realized what was actually going on, the Eagle Pokemon has used Leer instead of an offensive move. "Haaaap...." Lulu whimpered, cowered back a bit, feeling intimidated by the look her opponent was giving her. She was so scared that she almost didn't hear the command her trainer was about to shout. Yet, how was she suppose to battle against such a scary Pokemon? Was there any point in trying to defend herself... of course not! The Happiny let down her defense, just as the Rufflet would of planned her to.
"Come on, it's looking weak, use Pound once again!" Elizabeth didn't want to show any fear that she was now feeling in her voice, as her Happiny was already feeling intimidated by the Pokemon. Lulu gave a sharp nod, and started to make her way toward the Rufflet, this time in a zig zag motion, feigning a leap at the enemy a couple times before finally jumping into the air, ready to bring down her weight on the Rufflet. s u m m a r y : happiny used pound |

Rufflet | Normal/Flying-Type | Level 6 | Male | Hustle Peck | Leer | Fury AttackHis plan had worked! With his opponent cowering, he could swoop in and strike with a powerful peck attack. He had become overconfident though, and didn't even stop to think about Lulu possibly attacking back. Luckily, he noticed her zig-zags and took action to dodge her. Believing that he has dodged her attack, he began to drive towards her, falling for her little trick. When her weight hit him, this time he could just barely get up. He was weak now, and could hardly stand let alone continue the battle. Would Elizabeth catch this flying-type, or would she finish him off? Rufflet was hit by POUND Rufflet is weakened!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #DA8994;] elizabeth Watching as the attack hit, Elizabeth couldn't help but spring up with excitement. Lulu staggered backward and watched her opponent fall to the ground, and gave a little chirp. He wasn't yet defeated, but this was a good sign. The Pokemon was very endeavoring, and Elizabeth liked this, there was no way she was putting down the chance to capturing such an amazing Pokemon. She beckoned her Happiny back in and watched as the Rufflet struggled to even get up, now was her chance. She was going to capture the Pokemon, and have it as a great addition to her small team already, there was no way she'd let the Rufflet get away now!
Elizabeth rummaged through her cluttered pink leather bag and finally pulled out a sphere no bigger than a marble. She clicked the elevated button on it, and without warning it expanded to fill her whole palm. With the red and white sphere ready to throw, the pink haired girl eyed her victim."You're mine now..." She whispered with a little chuckle at the end. She lifted her bare arm back above her head, then flung it forward giving a delicate flick. The Pokeball flew from her hand, spinning in the air and landing just in front of the weak eagle Pokemon. A red light metalized and surrounded the Pokemon as he was absorbed inside of the Pokeball. "Just give in, there's no point in fighting now!" Her volume had increased as she glared at the sphere with excitement, yet Lulu simply looked at it curiously. She'd never seen a Pokemon being put back into their home, she'd only been sent back to hers before. She noticed her trainer had crossed her fingers on her left hand, and bit the nails of ones on the right. Was this some kind of peculiar ritual humans had to grant them luck... How strange of them. s u m m a r y : elizabeth threw a pokeball |
