Underground Fight Club

So, this is not going to be pretty or anything. It's just past midnight for me, but this idea sprung into my mind, so I decided to at least get the rough idea here before/in case I forget it.

Okay, so, I was just thinking, maybe as an on-going site-wide thing, we could have an underground fighting tournament happen? It could take place at night in constantly changing cities/towns, or even just be scattered routes and stuff. It has to be scattered if it's underground, you know, being illegal and all.

We could have sign-ups...here?...and then either an admin or really anyone, even me, could organize it and set up the match-ups. We could communicate the info via an APP for the Pokégear/dex hahaha. And then, I dunno, depending on the sign-ups and speed of threads, it could either be a monthly or every other month thing before it resets. Realistically, if only, like, 8 people are signed up/accepted, that's only 4 prelim. battles, 2 semi-finals, and 1 final battle. That, quite possibly, could be done in a month, right?

Sorry, I'm rambling, and I know it. Anyway, yeah, good way for random interactions/rivalries to start, plus, good training? So, anyone like the idea?! And/or want to nitpick it and make it better than the mess I just posted?

I think it's a good idea as people like to have a plot. I was thinking something along the lines of one of the rocket/plasma teams took over and so others aren't allowed to train/battle. So people sign up for battles in secret and catch pokemon quietly in fear of being caught, that way we could have some evil people trying to battle others to take their pokemon away and it gives the site a plot and everyone some new muse and ideas

So we'd have like groups on the site, trainers who shouldn't train so become rebels, bad people from which ever team took over, and maybe others if people get good ideas. Then we can have rebel challenges and battles ,(like they did on colosseum), and have rounds where trainers go against each other but they need to be careful they aren't found out so they have to be hidden in odd sorts of places.

It would mean a bit of jerking on the site but not a lot, and I know it would bring in more members. People love a plot, even if it's a loose one where you don't have to act on it

+1 to the underground fights. :"D i actually kind of see it more like dog fighting? o: or at least, it can be more like dog fighting, where it's really brutal--hence the whole illegal/underground thing. and there really aren't any rules and whatnot, so people fight dirty. >8|
i mean, i don't really think lucy would be a part of it, lol. but now i might make another character. > 3>

Nix, those ideas are basically what I asked about upon first joining, and I was told that this is a social Pokémon site, one without that kind of plot. That entire concept goes completely against what I'm pretty sure Noki aimed for. Also, I'm not sure why you thought you could suggest a complete change or addition of a plot, but I HIGHLY doubt that your ideas, which really aren't original because that's basically what plenty other Pokémon sites revolve around, will be accepted.

And Lucy, that actually sounds pretty interesting and very fun, but it might turn off some people. From what I've seen, a majority of the characters are more friendly than vicious. While it would be fun and creative to RP, in essence, "dirty battles", it might make it much more exclusive, to the point of too few sign-ups.

aha. i said that because you said underground fight club. ;D if it's to be friendlier, instead of underground, make some rich business man who likes pokemon fighting set up a tournament? that way, more people are welcome to join in. (: and who cares if it lasts a while. xD and the placing winners get prizes, and everyone else can get commemorative prizes? idk. like £100 haha. and to make things more interesting, each battle can take place in different stadiums (because the guy's super rich? idk D8) and have different twists to them.

That could definitely be a much more appealing alternative. I really just liked the term and concept of "underground" haha. But yeah, maybe if one of the mods or admins likes the idea, the rich guy could either by playable, I'd be willing to take it, or just as an NPC. That could definitely make things fun. And then, maybe, whoever plays this man would just post an introduction to each battle in a different stadium, and define the terrain and nuances of the stadium? Make for some very ranging battles?

well, it could be underground in that he doesn't have the rights to hold a tournament? o: so it's all very hush hush and only certain people know about it. but then it grows bigger by the end and no one cares enough to barge in and stop him. xD also b/c he has money. B| and i don't think the man has to be played as an npc? and the beginning posts can just be a setting post, not him describing it. though i think he'll have to pop up to give prizes, i suppose. o: and and for the tournament, would people sign up with the pokemon they're going to use? because then mods can take advantage of that and try to give both sides a sort of disadvantage that they have to work around. and to make sure there's no big type advantage, because the pokemon are at such low levels that that would suck. D: and later on, for the semi's & whatnot, there can be double battles and stuffff. c8

I like the idea of people signing up sending in what pokémon they'll use. And the types of battles could vary the whole time, like, sometimes there will be four pokémon with two double battles, or just three pokémon, or six Pokémon, etc. But with people signing up with their Pokémon before seeing other people's teams. Removes the ability to stack a team for advantages over others. And yeah, also to make the setting disadvantage or at least equal playing field.

Lol Noki just stumbled upon this today XD and now its time for her to say some things about this interesting idea.

If you guys really want to try out this little underground battle tournament thing, I would be more than happy to set it up! As a test run at first of course before it becomes a monthly thing. And here is what I was thinking;
