Devan waded through the tall grass with Dusk on his shoulder, determined to find one of the pokemon on his list. "Dusk I want you to keep a lookout to okay? Tell me if you see any pokemon around." The little Litwick threw him a small salute then began to scan the surrounding grass, noting that it was hard because it was so tall and thick. Devan trudged along looking for one of his desired pokemon, there had to be at least one of them around here somewhere. Looking up at the sky he noticed it was around midevening and the sun was starting to go down. Perfect, more ghost and dark pokemon came out later and they were his favorites and if he found a different type that he liked maybe he'd get lucky and it would be drowsy and heading off to sleep. Staring at the sky he soon stopped, looking up at it. "The skies beautiful at this time of day wouldn't you say dusk." Dusk looked up at the sky and responded in a happy tone "Lit!" Soon both of them stopped their search to stare at the sky. Dusk was the first to hear the rustling though. Looking over towards where the sound was coming from he pulled Devan's cheek with one hand and pointed excitely with the other. "Lit! Lit lit!" Devavn replied "Ow! Whats with the pulling?" He finally noticed the direction Dusk was pointing in and heard the rustling. Devans eyes lit up and he looked at the spot from where the rustling sounds were eminating. "Lets see if this is our lucky day Dusk." Dusk replied in a determined tone "Lit!"

She wasn't too fond on bumping into people or pokémon, and preferred to keep to herself when she could. That is why when she heard the noise of a boy talking in the distance she floated into a bush. Watching the two of them she identified the pokémon he had on him as a ghost type, a few of them resided here also. Why on earth was there a human here at this time? Gastly liked to come out here and be alone, but it seemed that wasn't going to happen. Ready to float away, she heard a rustle behind her. A Rattata had seemed to run away from the ghost type, but Gastly saw this as a threat and flung herself from the shrub in fear. She was now in plain sight of the trainer and his pokémon, too scared to move she let out a pathetic cry and started at them. What would they do with her? [/style]

Devan was about to get to the rustling when suddenly a Gastly jumped out at them! He jumped back quickly in surprise, wondering why it would suddenly dart out like that. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed a Rattatat running off in the opposite direction, maybe it had spooked it out of hiding? Either way he didn't care, he'd found one of the pokemon on his list. Soon he forgot his question and assumption and smiled. Finally! This is what he'd been waiting for! He looked to his ahoulder where his partner Dusk's flame was glowing brighter, a sign he was just as excited as Devan was. "Ready to go buddy?" The little Litwick jumped down to the ground, hovering just above the grass. "Lit! Litwick!" Devan smiled. "Then lets go get us a new teammate! Dusk, use acid armor then follow up with Astonish! Dont let it get away!" Devans eyes were determined and full of life, this was one of the pokemon he'd been waiting to catch! Finally, a new addition to his team! Now all he had to do was win this battle and with all their determination, theres no way they could lose! Devan could see the acid armor take effect on Dusk's body, when the first move was over, the second began and Dusk flew towards the Gastly to use astonish, just as eager to win as Devan was and the same sparkle in its eyes.

Was he planning on doing wild experiments on her? What if all the other ghost pokémon were right and he wanted to eat her soul? Oh god, the look on his face was so menacing and suddenly he began shouting orders at his other pokémon. The Gastly was now pretty worried, what were they doing, should she run? No. She would stand her ground and try to act tough. It was then that the boy's Litwick began to glows and it's whole body structure change. It seemed more... flumpy. His body was no more solid, but still stood there. Gastly could only recognize this to be an acid armor attack! Why was she using moves, where they going to battle? Oh no, Gastly was no good in battles. She gave a gigantic gulp that she was sure everyone in Unova could hear and then watched as the Litwick charged at her. "Gaaaaaaas!" She screeched turning around trying to float off, but it was too late, the attack hit and she fell down onto the ground. She pulled herself back up and now she was angered. It was like the Gastly was a completely different person. How dare they attack such an innocent pokémon like her? A lady! She charged at the ghost pokémon; tongue hanging out ready to give them a nasty lick attack for all the trouble they caused.[/style]

"Yes a hit!" Devan said jubilantly. "Great job Dusk!" Dusk replied quickly "Lit!" While they were celebrating though the gastly came at Dusk with a Lick attack. Devan saw it first, shouting quickly "Watch out Dusk! Hurry dodge it!" Dusk tried to dodge but just couldn't get out of the way fast enough, and got hit with most of the attack. Devan was worried at first but then he remembered that they had used acid armor already which boosted Dusk's defense so the attack did little damage to Dusk. "You alright buddy?" Dusk turned to him, a little scratched but alright. "Lit! Litwick!" Devan smiled at the pumped little Litwick, "Then lets get back in there!" He though about it for a moment. Ghost types were weak against ghost and dark typed moves so that meant that astonish should have done a pretty good amount of damage being a ghost type move. Probably better to not use the same move twice in a row though, so time to switch it up. "Dusk use smog and lower your flame!" Dusk flame went dimmer on its head and it opened its mouth, releasing a continuous blast of smog that coted the area and made in nearly impossible to see in the battle area. Plus there was the added chance that it might poison the gastly and weaken it. Dusk had stayed out of the smog, keeping to the outer edges just as Devan needed. "Now Dusk, use heat wave!" Dusk got ready and inhaled deep then exhaled it fiery breath, blowing both the attack and the smog towards gastly.

This little creature was going to pay for the sneaky attack he'd used on her. It seemed after being attacked the Gastly was a whole new person. She wasn't a scared little ghost pokémon anymore, now she was a fighter. Ready to stick up for herself. Gastly was tired of people pushing her around and bullying her, and this was her chance to stand up for herself. Getting ready to attack the enemy again, a sudden cloud of smoke hit her! What was this, why could she no longer see anything? It seemed the smog attack hadn't poisoned the Gastly, yet it was able to stop her long enough so that the heat wave could hit. The gas caught alight as the flames hit and and surrounded the Ghost, before impacting and causing her to screech in pain. Seconds later the fire disappeared, but Gastly seemed burnt and was taking incredible amounts of pain from that attack. Yet, she carried on fighting, trying to prove herself to the world that she wasn't weak. Her mouth opened wide, her two fangs on show, and a horrible noise was emitted, supersonic waves flying at the Litwick, trying to put it to sleep. While this attack was used, the poor ghost pokémon winced from the pain of her burn.[/style]

"Hurry Dusk dodge it!" Dusk replied speedily, narrowly avoiding the hypnosis. Devan was a little worried now. If Dusk gets hit with an attack like that the battle could be over, and he was determined not to lose this Gastly. He'd been searching a long time to find it, no way was he gonna let it get away! He needed to catch it before it could use that move again! That was the only ay he was going to win this battle. While looking at the gastly he noticed it wince from the burn it had recieved. His eyes widened, thats it! Thats how he was gonna win this! "Get ready Dusk! Its time to use your full power!" Dusk's flame flared and shone brightly suddenly and she replied "Lit!" Devan held out hit hand and said "Use ember and heat wave together to form a powerful fire attack! Aim for the burn! Now go, full power Dusk!" The little Litwick inhaled as deep a breath it could and blew out both the ember and heat wave at once, aiming for the burn on gastly. Directly after the attack left Litwick and headed for Gastly Devan pulled out one of his pokeballs and threw it at gastly so that if the attack hit, it would come directly after the damage and have a higher chance and if it didn't he still might have the chance of capturing it.

The Litwick dodged it easily and Gastly listened as the trainer began to shout orders. What were they to do now? The Gastly was pretty weak, but she still had hope that she'd be able to take the opponent on. Yet that perspective soon changed and as pokémon got ready to attack. She saw his energy build up and charged at the candle pokémon trying to attack before she did. Yet, it was too late. The fiery attacks were sent out and sent Gastly flying backwards. The burn from early searing with pain, she could barely talk. Trying to get up it seemed the pokémon was on it's final legs. Would this trainer choice to finish her off? Could he be so heartless? Yet, it seemed his plain wasn't to defeat the Gastly, as he walked up to her, Pokéball in his hand. The ghost has no idea what it was and looked intrigued, yet this expression wore of as a red light materialized over her, sending her into the sphere. Was this pokémon heaven? It was strange, cold... yet welcoming. She wanted to leave, but had no energy to break out. Instead she allowed it to rock her into a sleep. Three shakes and a ding later, the Gastly was his. Watching this battle, a Sentret made his way toward the trainer, using his tail to walk. He looked at the boy curiously and began to hop around him. It seemed like the pokémon wanted something to eat as his stomach let out a growl of hunger. He hadn't eaten all day, but he didn't want to sleep without food. "Seeeen?" Reaching down, Devan picked up the pokeball and smiled at Dusk. "We got ourselves a new team mate! Good job Dusk!" Dusk smiled cheerfully and let out a happy, "Lit!" before jumping onto Devans shoulder, his favorite perch. Attaching the pokeball to his belt Devan reached up and petted Dusk fondly, recieving a pleasurable sound in return. Devan was about to head home since it was getting when a litte Sentret appeared, hopping around him. He wondered what it would want then when its stomach growled and he gave him that cute begging face he knew. It was hungry. "Aw aren't you a cute little guy." Squatting down he fondled the Sentrets head gently, rubbing it softly between its two large ears. He looked it over, thinking it looked healthy and strong and while not on his list, could make a good addition to his team. After all it was so cute and friendly and so was its evolved form Furret. He reached inside his pack and after a little searching pulled out a berry, offering it to the fluffy little pokemon. Smiling softly he continued petting it's head and said "Hey little guy, how'd you like to come with me? You'd never go to bed hungry and we'd have lots of fun together." He hoped he'd get lucky and be able to catch this one to, it was like the perfect pokemon! He smiled just thinking about the cute little pokemon.

What could it be? Was he bringing him something to eat? Would this boy be kind enough to do so? It seemed like he was. His hand emerging from the bag, a berry was now in it. Without thinking the Sentret stuck his face into it, eating like his life depending on it. He heard the boy talking and it seemed like he wanted the Sentret to join him. The idea did seem nice... The Sentret nodded at the trainer, then looked at the Litwick on his shoulder. "Do you reckon I should join you guys? Would it be a good idea?" His face held a curious expression and waited for the pokémon to reply. Normally trainers just fought with the Sentret, and he lost. This would be a great opportunity to train with a human, and become stronger... and maybe one day; evolve! Devan saw Dusk jump down from his shoulder and land beside the Sentret, seeming to talk to him. Dusk looked at the Sentret and replied "Yah! Devans a really nice trainer and he'll help you grown stronger! He loves and takes care of all his pokemon, and is really fun! I haven't had a single problem since i've been with him and we've been together for a while. Im pretty sure he'd love for you to join us to. Its your choice though, but I think you'd really have a lot of fun if you came with us." Litwick smiled and as Devan saw them finish talking about whatever it was pokemon talked about he took out a pokeball and held it in his hand towards Sentret, smiling softly. "So what do you say friend? Wanna come with me?"

He sniffed the red and white sphere that was placed in front of him and tried to inspect it further. He saw a button upon it and felt the need to push it. So he did, and from there he entered the ball. It flew from the boys hand and onto the ground where it began to shake gently. It gave a little ding to let the trainer know the Pokémon was caught. He was glad that he had decided to come along with the boy. He seemed really nice, and by what the Litwick said, he would be able to train a lot. Devan reached down and picked up the pokeball, smiling softly. "Looks like we got us two new friends eh Dusk?" Dusk piped up with a cheerful "Lit!" Devan held out his arm and Dusk jumped up it till he reached his shoulder. Yawning, Devan looked at Dusk and said "Ready to call it a day and go to the pokemon center while their still serving food?" Dusk eyes lit up at the mention of food and replied enthusiastically "Lit! Litwick!" Devan laughed and said "Lets go then. We have to make sure Gastly's healed also and that Sentrets feeling healthy while were there." With that said, Devan attached Sentres pokeball to his belt and began the journey back to the pokemon center, talking to Dusk and thinking about all the fun and adventures he was going to have with his two new friends.

He started to see the lights of the pokemon center in the distance after a little while and sighed. "Almost there Dusk. Hot food and cozy beds await us." Dusk sighed to, then perked up, hearing something. Looking over he saw a rustling in the bushes. "Lit!" Devan looked at Dusk. "What is it buddy?" Dusk pointed in the direction of the rustling. "Lit!" Devan heard the rustling and turned towards it, could there really be another pokemon there?

God, who the hell does she think she is?" Spat a Tangela as she was walking around her local area. It seemed like this pokémon was angry for a friend for telling her she didn't look good, yikes! Her (what anyone could only guess to be) tentacles wriggled about in anger and she carried on treading along a path near the trainer and his recently caught pokémon. She had her head held high as if she was almighty and no one was better than her. It was then that she came into sight of the trainer and looked at him with pure disgust. "What are you looking at?" She hissed, "You a bit like Shelly, think I'm not pretty enough, ay?!" The Tangela began to shout, ready to bite anyone's head of. Devan frowned as a Tangela came out of the bushes looking quite angry and, upon further inspection, it seemed to be yelling at him. What in the world did he do? He had never even met this pokemon. It didn't seem to be very nice at all. It actually seemed like it wanted to fight him. Hm, he thought to himself, this could be some good experience for Dusk. With two fire types moves he would have an advantage over a grass type like Tangela. Maybe he could even get Dusk to go up a level if they battled this angry Tangela. He looked to Dusk on his shoulder. "So what do you think Dusk, should we have a battle this time and see if we can get you to level up?" Dusk jumped down onto the ground and looked back at Devan, holding up a tiny fist in the air "Lit! Litwick!" Devan smiled softly, glad his little friend was still as excited as ever. "Well okay then lets go! Dusk, remember the combination attack you just used back there on Gastly? Lets do that again to beat Tangela! Go Dusk! Use heat wave and ember together on Tangela now!" Dusk inhaled a deep breath like last time and the flame on the top of its head flared high and bright as it opened it's mouth and let out its heat wave and ember combination, the fiery move heading towards the miffed Tangela.
